ANNE HATHAWAY COVERS HARPERS BAZAAR UK

Anne Hathaway is the February cover star of Harper's Bazaar UK with what I can only describe as an awkward, well styled shot. The styling and concept are great, and I love the colours but I'm just not a fan of the awkward pose and face, this is a real disappointment, especially as it's the lead up to what I'm sure will be a great awards season for Anne. On a good note, the accompanying editorial looks promising and the interview a good read.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON COVERS ELLE UK

Scarlett Johansson covers the February 2013 issue of Elle UK wearing a white dress by Victoria Beckham and Manolo Blahnik for Beckham peep-toe boots. Scarlett looks amazing on this cover, I love the whole look, even the slightly unflattering boots. I really can't wait to see there accompanying editorial shot by Rankin and I have real high hopes for the subscribers cover following this!

GWEN STEFANI COVERS US VOGUE

I'm not sure if I can explain in words how much I love Gwen Stefani's cover of US Vogue. I just adore it; it's so fun, interesting and very surprising and I just want to run out and buy it right now - sadly this can't happen yet. The January cover was shot by Annie Leibovitz and features pieces from the YSL Spring 2013 collection, including a statement hat which works perfectly with this shot.

SIENNA MILLER COVERS HARPERS BAZAAR UK | JANUARY 2013

I honestly thought I'd already published this post a few days ago, clearly not! Anyway, this is the January 2013 cover of Harper's Bazaar with their cover-star, Sienna Miller.

I really love the whole cover, I'm not sold on Sienna's face - it looks a little awkward - but I think the styling is incredible with the pale pink pleated piece, the subtle hair and nude nails. Soft pastels seem to be a running theme throughout January covers! This is Harper's Bazaar 'Body Issue' and it includes an interview with Sienna about her body image, and the journey she has taken.

I'm looking forward to picking up myself a copy of this issue! Are you a fan of Sienna Millers soft, pastel cover?

RITA ORA COVERS GLAMOUR UK | JANUARY 2013

The minute I heard that Rita Ora was to cover the January 2013 issue of Glamour, I was super excited. I loved her ASOS magazine shoot so much and she always looks amazing on the red carpet *cough EMAs *cough*, so I had high hopes for this cover and I'm not disappointed at all! Rita wears a floral Christian Dior dress and a pair of vintage drop Chanel earrings; this is a very different look for her, but it suits her well.

KYLIE MINOGUE COVERS ELLE UK | JANUARY 2013

The January 2013 coves are going to start coming through thick and fast in the next few days I'd imagine and one of the first to be released is Elle UK with their cover star Kylie Minogue. 

Kylie wears a Christopher Kane dress and Jil Sander heels which I really like, especially the really muted colours used. My only issues with this cover are the pose (take a tip from ANTM and model head to toe!) and the hair. I don't like that you can't see her other foot, its really awkward to look at and the bleach blonde hair just isn't working, its not very 'Kylie' in my eyes. I am however, excited to see the accompanying editorial and the subscribers cover.

ANNE HATHAWAY COVERS US VOGUE

Anne Hathaway covers the December issue of Vogue US which brings her Vogue count to three covers now! The actress is currently promoting the upcoming Tom Hooper movie Les Misérables, which is released on Christmas day and is rumoured to set up her for many major awards. 

The cover was shot by Annie Leibovitz and you can now see the accompanying editorial over at Vogue.com featuring a velvet Valentino Haute Couture dress and a Ralph Lauren ruffled blouse. You can also read a part of Anne's interview where she reveals that she knew the part in Les Misérables was hers from the get-go...

“I knew that someone was going to have to go in there and do something pretty special to unseat me. Sometimes you leave a room and you feel like maybe you’ve left the door open a crack. This time, I knew that I had slammed it shut behind me.”

This may sound like Anne is a tad over-confident but have a look at the trailer and you decide, I personally feel that an award or several are definitely going to be heading her way.

CAMERON DIAZ COVERS ELLE UK DECEMBER 2012

Cameron Diaz is the cover star of the December issue of Elle UK wearing a pink Christian Dior look on the subscribers cover below and a white floral Chanel dress on the newsstand issue. This cover more than likely stems from her up-coming movie Gambit starring herself, Alan Rickman and Colin Firth.

When I saw the newsstand edition I wasn't crazy about it at all and hoped that the subscribers would be better despite the fact I'm not a fan of Cameron Diaz usually anyway. Much to my delight, although not fantastic, the subscribers cover is better in my opinion and is quite different from other covers I've seen recently which I like.

NATALIA VODIANOVA COVERS VOGUE UK DECEMBER 2012

Vogue UK have revealed their December 'Pop' issue cover featuring Supermodel Natalia Vodianova. The cover was shot by none other than Mario Testino and is definitely a pop of colour all over. It some ways reminds me very much of Gisele's December cover last year, which too, featured rainbow colours, I did however have high hopes for a more festive looking shoot - multi-coloured fonts and a jacket from the Valentino resort collection don't really fill you with festive thoughts. There's still hope from inside I suppose! 

In celebration of all things 'Pop' this issue features pop stars - note One Direction on the cover - pop culture, pop-up stores and apparently POPcorn...I'm intrigued by this issue but the cover doesn't really grab me, also, the 'pop' font is horrible, very teen pop and not very Vogue at all.

CHERYL COLE COVERS GLAMOUR UK DECEMBER 2012

Gosh it seems like I event done a cover post in absolutely ages! The first of the December covers is that of Cheryl Cole who covers Glamour UK. I'm not the biggest fan of Cheryl and usually don't love her cover shoots but I have to admit sadly, that this one I like; I think the team over at Glamour have done a great job with this one. 

Cheryl looks great wearing a floral pink, feathered Chanel dress and an ultra-messy top knot. This cover is very fun and festive - the gold camera - and suits the magazine so well. This issue hits newsstand on November 1st but before that you can watch her behind-the-scenes video here which features some beautiful pastel coloured dresses!

JENNIFER LAWRENCE COVERS BRITISH VOGUE

Jennifer Lawrences appears on the cover of the November issue of British Vogue in what is her debut appearance on the publication but more than likely not going to be her last. She wears a lace Dolce & Gabbana and I just think the whole look and the pose are just amazing; this is one of my favourites of the November covers I've seen! 

Jennifer is currently promoting her upcoming movie Silver Linings Playbook, where she plays alongside Bradley Cooper, so this cover couldn't come at a more appropriate time. This issue hits newsstands on October 6th, but you can check out parts of here interview here beforehand.

SARAH JESSICA PARKER COVERS ELLE US

Sarah Jessica Parker has landed the November cover of Elle US for the annual 'Women in Holly

wood' issue. She wears a dress from the Calvin Klein collection and a beautiful statement necklace by House of Lavande. SJP was photographed by Alexi Lubomirski and I was just so excited when I saw this cover; I'm definitely a fan and this cover is one of my favourites! 

The accompanying editorial not only features SJP, but also other women in Hollywood like Octavia Spencer, Elle Fanning and Emma Watson. You can see  preview of this here, along with sneaks of the interviews.

TAYLOR SWIFT COVERS MARIE CLAIRE UK

I'll admit, I'm a little behind with this one...I thought I'd done this already but then looking back it turns out I didn't, so here it is. Taylor Swift is the cover star of the November issue of Marie Claire UK. On the newsstand cover Taylor wears a heavily embellished dress, messy hair and a smokey eye; very glam, but on the subscribers cover it's a lot more natural with her guitar and boots. 

Having watched the behind-the-scenes video for her shoot, and getting a sneak peek here, I can honestly say that it looks like it is going to be amazing. Its a whole mix of silk dresses and knee-high boots to sequinned evening dresses paired with a leather jacket. I'm excited, this may just beat her US Vogue cover which I loved.

JESSIE J COVERS ELLE UK

It seems odd saying it, but magazine are already starting to release their November issues and the first of those is Elle UK with Jessie J gracing the cover. The singer was photographed by Rankin for her debut Elle cover wearing a Dolce & Gabbana sleeved bodysuit. The accompanying editorial sure does promise great things, I'm just not completely sold on the cover image yet, Jessie's face looks awfully stiff; hopefully the shoot inside will be better. AND, a limited edition collectors issue is on its way to all subscribers - yay!

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY COVERS VOGUE US

Keira Knightley covers the October issue of Vogue US following on from her brilliant cover of Harper's Bazaar last month. The actress wears a lace detail Chanel dress and a rather odd but fabulous pair of sliver gloves; this comes before her amazing editorial inside where she models various Haute Couture pieces. Photographed my Mario Testino, I don't think you can go wrong though whatever you're wearing, my favourite image is this one... 

I just adore this dress by Dior and the whole quirky nature of this shot...fab! You can see a preview of the shoot and the interview here. Keira really is on a roll at the moment with two covers coming off the back of her promotion of her new movie Anna Karenina. I give her some credit, this cover is great.

JENNIFER LAWRENCE COVERS W MAGAZINE

When I heard that Jennifer Lawrence was to cover of the October issue of W magazine I really did have high expectations. Having now seen the cover though, I'l admit, I'm disappointed. The Hunger Games star is covered in feathers - very black swan esque - and this over the top look really doesn't suit her at all. That being said, you have to give her and W some credit for trying out such an extreme and out there look.

KRISTEN STEWART COVERS BRITISH VOGUE

The October issue of British Vogue is covered by Kristen Stewart who wears a printed piece from the Gucci Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. This cover comes after she was publicly shamed for cheating on Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson; interesting cover line choice, "on love and living dangerously"...

I can't make my mind up about this cover. It's sure to be a best seller for Vogue, but I just don't like her 'haunted' and dead expression, for me it's all too Twilight; hasn't that been done already? That being said, everyone is still very much interested in the scandal surrounding her so I don't think it will be much of an issue (no pun intended).

GWEN STEFANI COVERS ELLE UK

This is shaping out to be a good few months for singer Gwen Stafani, what with the upcoming release of her new album No Doubt, her amazing cover of Harper's Bazaar US last month and now her October cover of Elle UK! 

This cover, although in my opinion not as great as her Harper's Bazaar cover, is still really great, I'm so excited to see her editorial, I'm now just intrigued as to what the subscribers cover will look like.

Gwen was photographed by Matt Irwin and as soon as I saw this cover I immediately thought; McQ! She wears a piece from the Autumn/Winter 2012 McQ collection and a piece from Peter Pilotto and I have to say, I love this whole look, these pieces are just beautiful.

LADY GAGA COVERS VOGUE US

Are you ready for this? Lady Gaga covers the September issue of Vogue US with a record-breaking 916 pages. Wearing a piece by Marc Jacobs, this is Lady Gaga's second Vogue US cover and if I'm honest, this has completely stormed ahead of her previous. 

Gaga was photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and styled by Grace Coddington; with this team I'm certain the editorial is to be just much a spectacle, I believe a large pink hat is involved!

Now, yes, this cover is in true Lady Gaga extravagant fashion, but it's really not what I expected at all. That's not to say I don't like it, I do think its a great cover and sure to be a bestseller; it was definitely worth the anticipating wait. I'm more excited by the content though; 120 years of style, exciting stuff!

GWEN STEFANI COVERS HARPER'S BAZAAR US

Gwen Stefani covers the September issue of Harper's Bazaar US and surprise surprise, it is a beautifully shot image by photographer Terry Richardson. Wearing a pink Jill Sander dress and an Alexis Mabille couture hat, the cover and editorial both reference the iconic 'Think Pink' musical number in Audrey Hepburn's Funny Face. I think this is a perfect concept and Gwen really does a fantastic job at thinking pink! 

You can see Gwen's editorial and a snippet of her interview here. I know I'll definitely be buying this issue when it hits newsstands, it's an absolutely brilliant cover, one of my favourites in a while and certainly my favourite of the September covers.
