BEST DRESSED | AMERICAN MUSIC AWARDS

Sunday saw the stars out once again for this years American Music Awards. There were some really amazing looks to hit the red carpet, but I've just picked out a few of my favourites.

Carrie Underwood

It seems Carrie Underwood is cropping up a lot on my blog recently; she just has some of the most amazing red carpet looks so expect to continue seeing her here! Anyway, for the American Music Awards Carrie wore a pinkish purple, sequinned Abed Mahfouz gown with a gold clutch and gold shoes. The dress was heavily embellished and featured details of lace cut out which was a lovely touch.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift wore a Zuhair Murad dress in gold paired with gold strapped heels. Her dress, as with Carrie's, was heavily embellished but she opted for a shorter length with long sleeve to balance the look. I love that she wore her hair up with just her bangs framing her face, it really makes the dress the sole focus, she should style her hair this way more often! this dress was the perfect cut for Taylor and the floral detailing is just beautiful. 

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani moved away from dresses and opted for a pair of wet-look trousers, black pumps and a statement Balmain jacket which is such an extravagant creation. I love that she kept everything simple apart from the jacket and then paired it all with a bold red lip which compliments her hair perfectly and just adds a little bit of colour to the look. I like that Gwen didn't follow the 'norm'.

CMA AWARDS 2012 | CARRIE UNDERWOOD

The CMA Awards are one of my favourite award shows; the combination of fashion and country music is just perfect. Now, I realise I'm a tad late with this one as I have been quite busy these past few days, but still really wanted to mention Carrie Underwoods CMA look(s)...

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood is probably one of the best dressed stars to hit the red carpet, every one of her looks blows me away and this one is no exception. She wears an ivory Reem Acra gown with gold leaf detailing over a sheer panel at the top. I absolutely love this dress, the cut is just perfect for her and paired with a gold clutch and a side-hairstyle she looks fabulous.

Also, Carrie wore a total of 11 looks on the night, with my two other favourites being these...

She ended the night wearing a sky-blue, almost cloud-like, Balser gown which had a bubble rise skirt and a plunged neckline. She styled this with a pair of heels featuring an odd ankle strap (now this I am not a fan of) and minimal jewellery.

For her performance she wore my favourite look of the whole night - maybe even of all time - which was a slate grey Tsemaye high-low gown. The one-off dress featured sheer, gem encrusted sleeves and a geometric pattern on the top and skirt which she paired with a silver belt, black heels and a pair of embellished gloves. Excuse the pun, but she literally blew everyone away during her performance of 'Blown Away' with this look.

Well thats it, Carrie Underwood seems to appear a whole lot on my best dressed posts but she just never fails to surprise me. Who was your best dressed of the night?

TAYLOR SWIFT COVERS MARIE CLAIRE UK

I'll admit, I'm a little behind with this one...I thought I'd done this already but then looking back it turns out I didn't, so here it is. Taylor Swift is the cover star of the November issue of Marie Claire UK. On the newsstand cover Taylor wears a heavily embellished dress, messy hair and a smokey eye; very glam, but on the subscribers cover it's a lot more natural with her guitar and boots. 

Having watched the behind-the-scenes video for her shoot, and getting a sneak peek here, I can honestly say that it looks like it is going to be amazing. Its a whole mix of silk dresses and knee-high boots to sequinned evening dresses paired with a leather jacket. I'm excited, this may just beat her US Vogue cover which I loved.

Taylor Swift Covers US Vogue

I am the first to admit that I really don't like Taylor Swift; she annoys me with her overly exaggerated shocked face and her look is always the same, but I can honestly say that this cover has shocked me a little. I love the colours and how her eyes have been made the main focus and then the colour scheme following those. 

Taylor was photographed by Mario Testino and this is easily one of my favourite Vogue covers of all time (that took a lot for me to type haha). I love her hair, I love her styling and I love this cover! The editorial is also great.
