REVLON LIP BUTTER IN BERRY SMOOTHIE

Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie: Boots/Superdrug (£7.99)

I have been wanting to try another Revlon lip butter since I picked up Strawberry Shortcake earlier last year, but with an almost £8 price tag, I didn't really think they were worth it. I did however see that Boots had quite a few of their Revlon items discounted to £5 and so I snapped up two lipsticks, one being another lip butter in the slightly darker shade of Berry Smoothie.

I've found that the formulation of this is a little different to my other one in the sense that it's less glossy, although still has slight flecks of shimmer that are barley noticeable. In the tube, Berry Smoothie looks a lot darker than Strawberry Shortcake but on the lips there is only a slight difference; this is definitely a 'your lips but better' kind of shade which I love for days when you just want a real natural look.

The only issue with lip butters as a whole is the lasting power which is only around two hours if you're lucky. That's why I was a little sceptical to pay £8 again so waited for a discount. It's not a total let down though because as these are a 'butter' formula, they are very moisturising and much like a lip balm so regular application isn't a problem.

RIMMEL'S KATE MOSS MATTE LIPSTICK | 107

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick - Boots (£5.49)

I realise I'm late to the party with this one, but I have honestly been meaning to pick up one of the shades from the Rimmel Kate Moss matte collection since they were released back in October. I felt like I wanted to wait and see what others thought first and then base my choice on that and so, that is why I ended up getting the deep red shade in 107.

Normally I tend to stick to nudes and lighter, less daring shades, but I thought I'd go out of my comfort zone a bit and pick up this one which really seems to be a cult favourite at the moment. When I first applied this lipstick it shocked me a little as I'm not used to darker colours, but after a while, it started to grow on me and now I really like it. Although it's a matte formulation, it's not drying at all and the finish is a softer, smoother looking matte than other lipsticks I've tried. It also goes on the lips easily and it lasts for quite a while before you need to reapply; I'd say around three to four hours!

I would highly recommend this lipstick if you are looking for a dark berry red shade, that's matte but not drying at all. I much prefer the offerings of this Kate Moss collection and I'm hoping to pick up a few more of the shades soon. Have you tried any from the collection that you'd recommend?

GREEN & YELLOW NAIL POLISH

U & I | Acid Yellow | Spring Green | Shade 4 | Green Glitter

803 | Lemon Ice Cream | Hidden Treasure | Totally Teal

Me and green nail polishes definitely have a hate hate relationship. I hate them and they hate my nails, every time I wear one they turn my nails an ugly colour. That being said, I do really like some of these polishes and one of my all time favourites is among this group!

Hidden Treasure from Topshop is a multi-toned, mainly green metalic shade which gets me so many compliments every time I have it on my nails, this is one of my all-time favourite nail polishes! Totally Teal by No 7 is a dark teal shade that in some lights can look more black. Acid Yellow by Barry M is a neon yellow/green colour and is one of the few polishes I regret buying - it's so ugly on the nails! U & I is from the love hearts collection by MUA and is a really nice pastel, mustard yellow.

PURPLE & PINK NAIL POLISH

Vivid Violet | Purple Pulse | Manhattan | 'lilac'

Silvery Lilac | Lucky Lilac | Purple Sherbet | Shade 4

I went through a phase where I suddenly acquired a lot of lilac/purple shades but now looking at this little collection, I've realised that I don't like many of them at all.

Silvery Lilac by Barry M is a metallic, two-toned lilac polish with hints of green. Purple Sherbet by Ciate and Lucky Lilac by No 7 are both incredibly similar on the nails and are the perfect lilac shades. Manhattan by NYC is a dark maroon toned polish which is very much an autumn/winter shade.

Strawberry Ice Cream | 'pink glitter | Shocking Pink | Peach Melba | Shade 1 | Plush Pink | Jammy

I honestly thought I had so many more pink nail polishes than I actually do. I really need to get some more because I just love how feminine pink/peach is.

Peach Melba by Barry M is a favourite for a lot of people because it is the perfect, pale peach shade; a very natural looking polish. Plush Pink from Leighton Denny is a very vibrant pink colour, very barbie pink. Similar to this is Shocking Pink by Barry M which is more of a deep barbie shade. Also by Barry M is Strawberry Ice Cream which is a pastel pink and the ultimate 'girly' polish.

GLITTER & NUDE NAIL POLISH

Gramercy Glitz | Carnival | Disco Mix | 07 | 21

Glitter glitter glitter, everyone needs some glitter in their life. Some of these glitter polishes look great over another polish and others look great on their own. I have other glitter polishes but I thought it best to include them with the colours they are rather than this post :)

Carnival by Technic is a dupe for an OPI polish and is actually my all time favourite glitter with lots of little multicoloured flecks. Number 07 from Saffron is a mixed sized silver glitter which is perfect for over darker polishes. Disco Mix is my newest Models own polish and I believe is great for an all over nail.

Supermodel | Basil Street | My Fair Lady | Nude Beige | Mushroom

Everyone needs a fair few nude nail polishes in their collection. I mean, they are perfect for days when you want a natural look, or even special occasions that need something subtle.

Supermodel by Leighton Denny is a brown toned nude that I believe could be a dupe for a Chanel polish. Nude Beige by Models own is similar to this, if not slightly lighter, and too is the perfect nude shade. My Fair Lady by Ciate is a more pink nude and is very very sheer on the nails. Mushroom from Barry M technically isn't a nude, it's more of a light brown, but I suppose is is quite neutral...

RED & ORANGE NAIL POLISH

Raspberry | Canal Street | Beach Party | Red Glitter | Coral | Devils Delight

Hedonist | Bright Red | Tropical Sun | All Fired Up Red | Block Orange

I very rarely wear red and so it was a real surprise when I saw how many red/orange shades I had. I don't like a lot of these but some really are up there among my favourites!

Beach Party by Models Own is my favourite nail polish at the moment, I love how neon it is and it gets so many compliments! Hedonist is also a very neon shade which leans more to the coral/orange end of the spectrum. Raspberry by Barry M used to be one of my favourites, its the perfect vampy red shade and Devils Delight from No 7 is definitely the perfect red red in my eyes. All Fired Up Red is a metallic red, magnetic polish from Fashionista which for me, is a really overrated concept.

BLUE NAIL POLISH

Denim | Mint Candy Apple | Blue Glitter | Wave | Aqua Cool | Mint Green

Teal | Navy | Balearic Cool | Blue Moon | Lapiz of Luxury | East Village

I didn't quite realise just how many blue/turquoise nail polishes I had until it came to doing this post. Its a bit of an odd nail colour, I mean its far from natural, but I do love a good blue every now and again.

Mint Candy Apple is a definitely a blogger favourite and in my opinion is the perfect mint green. Lapiz of Luxury is another by Essie and is a bright, slightly grey toned blue on the nails. Balearic Cool is my newest polish and is an almost neon blue, very striking! Teal by Barry M is a two-toned blue/green metallic shade which is very similar to East Village by NYC which is slightly lighter. Blue Moon by Barry M is quite unique, it's a very pale blue - almost white - shade with little tiny flecks of shimmer.

REVLON LIP BUTTER IN STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE

Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake: Boots/Superdrug (£7.99)

Wow I'm late posting this! I've actually had this Revlon Lip Butter for weeks now and I actually thought I'd blogged about it already; clearly not. When these first came out I was skeptical about them, I mean they are a lip butter so I just assumed that they would be very sheer and very well, pointless. I mean paying £7.99 for an almost lip balm isn't my idea of a worth while purchase but having used this for a good few weeks now, I have completely altered my opinion on the Revlon Lip Butters.

I chose Strawberry Shortcake which is a warm pinkish shade with blue undertones. On my lips it does come out a lot more of a pale barbie pink than it appears in the tube but I think with my skin tone, it still looks nice. I love how the blue undertones really make my teeth look whiter haha. It is a very creamy consistency and the application is so easy because it jet glides onto your lips like a lip balm. It is a very moisturising formulation which feels nice on the lips and doesn't leave them feeling dry at all - it does however show all the inconsistencies of your lips so I'd suggest applying a good lip balm first. One thing I wish was different was the lasting power. It only lasts on the lips around 2 hours maximum before you need to reapply which is annoying but I suppose for a sheer lip balm/stick is what you'd expect.

The price was what surprised me the most and not in a good way. I think nearing £8 is a bit steep for the product you are getting. I mean, it is after all just a very sheer lipstick/balm. I'll give it the fact that it is moisturising and the colour payoff is surprisingly good for what it is, plus the packaging is lovely, but I still think the price is a little too much; even if Revlon is usually a higher priced drugstore brand anyway. I would however still recommend the Revlon Lip Butters for anyone who is looking for a moisturising sheer lipstick with good colour payoff. I am actually now wanting to try a couple of the other shades to see if they are all as good as this one. This however does seem to be the best pigmentation of the lighter shades available.

CLOTHES BEAUTY & A BIT OF RANDOM

I finally went shopping yesterday; it has been so long, and I thought I'd show you what I got!
For some reason refereeing comes to mind when I see this Primark blouse.
But hey, I like it still!

Black Vans.

Topshop Pink Skull Earrings (reduced yay!)
Technic Nail Polish in...glitter?!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (Natural Beige).
Cherry Carmex Lip Balm.
QVC Foundation Brush.

Marie Claire - Ciate 'Purple Sherbet'.
Harper's Bazaar - Leighton Denny 'Plush Pink'.

I realise I didn't buy the ever sought after Glamour with Benefit issue BUT I will be getting it soon as my grandma kindly got hold of a copy for me with the Bad Gal mascara.

I'm going to see if I can find the primer anywhere...doubtful though!
I love how many magazines are giving free gifts this month.

Well thats it! That's everything I bought; not a great deal but I did splurge a tad with the Vans. They were an impulse buy. Sort of.

MAYBELLINE COLOUR TATTOO 24HR CREAM GEL EYESHADOW

Maybelline by Eye Studio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadow available at boots and super drug - £4.99

I'm a bit late with this one but honestly, I wasn't planning on buying any of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo's because I thought they were just another overrated product...oh how I was wrong! I picked up On and On Bronze (a copper, brown shade with some shimmer) because it was the most neutral colour they had at the time; I'm definitely not daring enough to try some of the brights like the blue and purples shades!

I swatched On and On Bronze when I got home and immediately thought it'd be way too dark to wear all over the lid but much to my surprise, it is the perfect all-over shade which is super super pigmented and very blend-able. This little pot of greatest is super easy to apply, I just use my ring finger as I found it works just as well as a brush, if not better. I then added a subtle corner highlight and a light shade over the top to soften and give a gradient effect.

The question you may all be wondering, do they really last 24hours? Well, can I just say, who wears make-up for 24hours?! If anyone out there does then please let me know. This did however last me a good 7-8 hours without smudging or creasing and trust me, trying to remove a swatch of this is definitely a challenge!

I think these Mabelline Colour Tattoo's are really worth the £4.99 price because they will most definitely last a long time and the staying power is just beyond, especially from a high street brand. I would quite like to try out Eternal Gold also which is a much lighter, gold colour (doh, the name kind of explains it haha) that would look great as a corner highlight.

Have you tried out any of these? Which is your favourite shade?

COLLECTION 2000 CREAM PUFF

I have read so much about Collection 2000's Cream Puff lip creams and thought; I just have to try them. Whilst in Superdrug last week, I spotted they were on a 2 for £4.99 deal (normally £2.99 each) and took advantage of this, I mean saving £1, why not? Anyway, after much deliberation, I chose to get Powder Puff 2 (nude) and Cotton Candy 1 (pink).

Here's what they say:

'Collection 2000 Cream Puff Lip Cream is the new velvet-feeling, matt-looking, muted and moisturising lip cream. For a velveteen pout that doesn’t look puckered, Collection 2000 Cream Puff Lip Cream is your perfect product. Enriched with a creamy, hyper-moisturising formula that is packed full of vitamins, this innovative cream with a powder finish is a lip-loving product that provides a unique matt, long-lasting lustre to the lips. Powder microspheres hug the creamy colour to your lips to make sure that your pout is perfect all day, or night!'

Now onto what I think. Let's start with Powder Puff 2 which is a nude shade that in the tube looks great but on the lips it gave that awful concealer appearance that just isn't for me. It is such a pigmented nude and looked really odd against my skin tone but would probably look better against paler skins? It also picked out every crack, bump and imperfection on my lips which was not  great look, I definitely think this shade would work better over a lipstick to tone it down a little.
Onto Cotton Candy 1 which I love! It is a gorgeous muted pink shade which leaves your lips with a slight colour without looking too in your face. I like the finish and I like how it could be a stand-alone lip colour or be used over the op of another similar lipstick.

Both lip shades are a matte finish but leave your lips feeling surprisingly moisturised like you would expect from a lipgloss even though they have more of a lipstick look. They packaging is a basic tube with a standard doe foot applicator that is big enough to glide over your lips in one sweep. Overall I do like these lip creams but I think I'll only repurchase Cotton Candy 1 because it's a beautiful shade and far more wearable. I might however try some of the other shades available.

Have you tried Collection 2000's Cream Puff lip creams? Do you like a matte finish lip?

NATURAL COLLECTION LIPSTICKS: ROSE BUD, ROSE PETAL & BERRY SORBET

L-R: Rose Bud, Rose Petal, Berry Sorbet

Natural Collection is one of those brands that people seem so reluctant to try because of the price but then when they eventually do try it, the majority of the time, they love the products! I discovered the other day that I actually already owned a lipstick from the Natural Collection range in a very bright red colour - my mum gave it me after she used it for Halloween! I'm not at all brave enough to wear a red lip to this found itself in a draw at home, but I was intrigued to try some of the other more wearable lip shades.

I decided to take up Boot's 3 for £5 offer and I chose lipsticks in the shades; Rose Bud, Rose Petal and Berry Sorbet. Let's start with Rose Petal, i've heard so so much about this lipstick, everyone seems to go on about it, raving how great it is so this was a definite one for me to try. I'll admit this shade scared me a little when I looked at it. It's very very nude and I immediately got the image of concealer lips which most of us know is not a great look. However, if you apply it over a lip balm it actually comes out a lot more natural and it is a really really nice, everyday lipstick.

Next onto Rose Bud which is my favourite of the three lipsticks I picked up. It's a very 'your lips but better' kind of colour (or at least it is on my lips) which is perfect for me as I much prefer a subtle more natural looking lip. It is noticeable as it has slight purple/magenta undertones tones to it but it isn't too overpowering.

Finally I got Berry Sorbet which is a very pale pinkish red that comes out a lot darker on the lip than it does swatched. This is my least favourite as it's far to red for me but I think it'd be perfect for those wanting to try a red but are not daring enough to go for a full bright red lip.

Overal I found all three lipsticks to be very moisterising and the staying power for each is good; lasting about 4-5 hours. They are surprisingly pigmented for the price and are definitely very build able on the lip. Each lipstick retails for £1.99 (as does the whole range) and they are available at Boots as part of a 3 for 2 offer at the moment.

What are your thoughts on Natural Collection products? Will you be buying any of these lipsticks?

MUA MOSAIC ENGLISH ROSE

I've been aware of the brand MUA for some time now but haven't really looked at the entire range. I heard about the Mosaic Blush from watching one of voussontbeauetbelle's YouTube videos who swore by this blush, and so I popped off to Superdrug to pick one up for myself. This blush is in Shade 3 which is English Rose and retails for £2.50 which is a bargain in my eyes for the amount of product you get.

To start with, the packaging is okay, nothing special but it seems sturdy enough for my liking and it's really easy to open with a simple flip up lid. Also I like how the lid is completely clear which makes it easy to see the product inside (not that I have any others!).

The product itself is also good, it's not really all that pigmented which for me is great because I'm not looking for the whole flushed cheek look, but for those who want a really bright blush, this might not be for you. The mosaic pattern is made up of four different shades; a pale pink, a darker pink, a coral and a light lilac. The photo above doesn't really do the colour justice, it's definitely a lot more pink than it shows up and a lot less shimmery. I would say I have slightly darker skin and so this blush shows up less on me than it would on say a paler skin so I'd definitely try before you buy to make sure you aren't disappointed.

Overal I would recommend this blush but as I said, I'd suggest you try it beforehand in store because the mosaic effect really does make it appear different on everyone's skin. For £2.50 though you can't really complain. MUA is available at both Superdrug (in store and online) and on MUA's own website.

What are yur thoughts on MUA products? Will you be trying out this English Rose Blush?

xoxo

FEBRUARY FAVOURITES

This is a bit of a late post but can you believe it's March already? February didn't really hold many new products as I'm pretty content with the ones I'm already using but I thought I'd just include more things like television shows etc which I have found myself loving this month. So on with the favourites we go...

TRESemme Serum with Argan Oil - I only used this in the last week or so of February but I just had to include it! I've wanted to try Argan/Moroccan oil on my hair for a while now after hearing how great it s but I refuse to pay the extreme prices from the likes of Lee Stafford etc and when I found out TRESemme did it in a hair serum I was sold. Serum is really great and it makes my hair so much less 'frizzy' but combined it with Argan oil and it makes my hair less frizzy and soft...win win I say.

Soap & Glory Hand Food - I have been using this for a couple of months now and everything people say about it is true. The smell is amazing and it makes your hands feel so soft and moisturised without leaving that sticky 'wet' feel for ages afterwards. This creme lives in my handbag now and I use it all the time; definite favourite.

Nivea 'Pearly Shine' Lipbalm - I honestly got this because I liked the pink packaging (not a good reason to buy something!) but after using it for about a month now I can honestly say it was a well worthwhile purchase. For starters I love things that have a good smell and this smells like those love heart candies you can get which is sooooo good and the product itself really does work to sooth and moisturise your lips at the same time as adding a slight 'pearly' pink tint to them. I'd totally recommend this!

Rimmel 'Hide the Blemish' Concealer - I always end up going back to this concealer; even after using the allusive Collection 2000 one! This is the perfect shade for me (golden beige) and it does exactly what I want it too so what more can I ask for really.

Marie Claire US - This is a random favourites but during February I found myself picking up Marie Claire US twice after previously reading it never! I got both of these issues last month (we have to wait ages in the UK to get US versions) and I mainly picked them up because of the covers - Angeline Jolie's cover is like one of my all time favourites. I have found that these magazines have good content though and I thoroughly enjoyed reading them so yeh, that's why they made it into my favourites haha.

Ringer - This show has been on air now since September but I only found myself watching it last month and I quickly became a fan. Quick expansion: it's basically about a set of twins (Sarah Michelle Geller) who meet after years of being estranged and then a huge twist happens and their lives are forever entwined. That was a terrible explanation but any more information and I'd give away the whole story; honestly though it's a really awesome show that you should all just go and watch!

Country Strong - I have wanted to see this movie since it came out at the cinema but sadly I didn't ever end up watching it; but when I saw it on Sky Anytime a few weeks ago I made sure to watch it. I love this movie! I don't think Gwyneth Paltrow is the best singer in the world but her final song is so so good that my mind was changed. Also it has Tim McGraw in it who is a great actor and singer (although he doesn't actually sing in this) and Leighton Meester who personally I don't feel meshed with the theme of the movie because she has that whole pop princess thing going on but I still enjoyed it and I'm definitely going to buy it on dvd asap.

Sara Ramirez - The Story Sara Ramirez is such an amazing singer and I first heard about this song when I watch the above video but then later it was included in the Grey's Anatomy musical episode (go and watch that!) which showed her singing it as her character 'Callie'. Both versions are great and last month I found myself listening to it again more and more. It's a great song and Sara is a great singer!
Cornish Pasties - This is the most random favourite ever but last month I honestly found myself venturing into Greggs more than usual to pick up a cornish pasty. Ooo as I'm writing this I'm craving one actually haha....
Well that's it for my February Favourites...sorry it was a bit random but I thought rather than missing a month I just talk about other things too! xoxo
