JULIA ROBERTS COVERS VANITY FAIR

I'm so so so excited to see that Julia Roberts is covering the April cover of Vanity Fair! She is one of Hollywoods most recognised stars and now the Mirror Mirror Actress tells all on life, fame and her upcoming movie.

As for the cover itself, it's a beautiful shot of her and it isn't too 'posed' or over the top like we sometimes see on covers. I like how they've gone for a very natural look and even the inside editorial follows this with a simple and natural pose.

I'm going to be picking up a copy of this when it's out on newsstands; I can't wait to read her interview...Also, on another note, the April issue also has a spread on the new Tim Burton/Johnny Depp movie which I'm uber excited about; couldn't believe it when I found out it was Johnny Depp!

What do you think of Vanity Fair's april cover? Are you a Julia Roberts fan?

TOPSHOP HIDDEN TREASURE

I've been wanting to see what all the hype is about with Topshop nail polishes and so today I bit the bullet and bought the ever-so desired Chanel dupe 'Hidden Treasure'. This polish is basically a metallic petrol colour which hints on being a matt finish.

This nail polish applies so so well, the consistency was just right and I found it went on with ease. I found two coats were all I needed to get the perfect 'petrol' look but three coats wouldn't harm!

This polish has quickly become my absolute favourite because it's just so unique; I think this is definitely a 'get me noticed' colour. I can quite happily say that this was one of the best £6 (well £5.40 with discount) I have ever spent and I will definitely be trying more of Topshop's polishes in the future.

Have you ever tried any of Topshop's nail polishes? Which is your favourite?

VANITY FAIR OSCARS: SOFIA VERGARA WEARS ROBERTO CAVALLI

Sofia Vergara for me is one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood and it seems she can do no wrong when it comes to her Awards looks; and last night was no exception!

Sofia attended the Vanity Fair Oscars after-party wearing a stunning white column Roberto Cavalli floor-length gown. It had floral lace detailing over the structured top and trailing down the skirt which looked so feminine and 'pretty' for want of a better word.

Sofia kept her hair relatively simple with long flowing curls and a centre part. Her make-up was once again flawless going for a pink lip and cat-like eyes.

All of Sofia's accessories complimented the dress well opting for silver glittered bangles, a chunky ring and floral earrings. She paired the look with a vibrant green, aqua and gold snakeskin clutch which finished off the look by adding a pop of colour.

I loved Sofia's look at the Vanity Fair after-party but what did you think?

VANITY FAIR OSCARS: MILEY CYRUS WEARS ROBERTO CAVALLI

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were one of the many couples at last nights after-parties that really shined; mainly due to Miley's glamourous gown.

Miley wore a long-sleeved grey Roberto Cavalli gown with a loose fishtail and intricate embellishments on the sides. This dress was absolutely stunning and almost looked although she had been poured into it!

Miley really went for the old Hollywood look with a pinned up-do, a bright red lip and winged eyes. This look make her look so much older but in a more mature way as apposed to her usual edgy rock look.

To finish off the look Miley chose a colour popping nail polish in aqua blue, silver jewelled earrings and a statement stone ring.

Miley looked so elegant, almost like an old movie star, what did you think of her look?

84TH ANNUAL ACADEMY AWARDS

The Academy Awards or the Oscars as many of us refer to it as, are probably the most looked forward to awards of the whole season! Now although it is about the actual awards for most people, for me, it's all about the fashion and here goes with my run-down of the best and worst of the night...

Angelina Jolie
Angelina has done it yet again with this black velvet-look Versace gown. The gown donned a split up to the thigh which she took every opportunity to show off. I just love this whole look; the shoes are simple but appropriate, the hair is waved and unusual for her and the dress is just wow...this look is by far the best of the night for me; Angelina can truley do no wrong!

Gwyneth Paltrow
I'm totally and utterly surpirsed by thius one, normally Gwyneth's looks for me are average but she really got it right this time. This Tom Ford gown is so elegant and fits her perfectly and then paired with the cape - which at first I wasn't sure about - really does finish off the look. The single diamonte cuff is really a statement piece which keeps with the elgant feel and doesn't distract from the dress itself.

Penelope Cruz
Penelope has taken us back to classic Hollywood glamour in this Armani Privé gown. The colour is that of a pale, slate blue and the style of the gown is not your usual look - especially for Penelope - but she makes it work and looks beautiful in doing so!

Stacey Keibler
First I want to say that this is not Stacey's best look ever but I do adore her gold Marchesa dress. This is going to be a love it or hate it kind of dress I think but it really fits her well and compliments her figure; it's almost like liquid gold on her!

Jessica Chastain
Stunning, absolutly stunning. Jessica really looked great wearing a black and gold embelished Alexander McQueen gown and a simple half up half down hairstyle. One thing I would say though is that the dress out-staged her a little, I found myself noticing that more than I did her. One of my favourite dresses of the night though...

Milla Jovovich
Milla looks beautiful in this white Ellie Saab gown. Her whole look is done so well and the subtle touches of accessories really do add to the whole look.

Sandra Bullock
I'm torn with this look; I want to like it but theres just something that dosesn't quite do it, even though she still looks great! I love the two-tone effect on her Marchessa gown and I also like the gold embelishment on the shoulders and around thw waist but I can't help but notice how loose it is on her; if it fitted her a bit better I thyink this would be further up in my best looks.

Emma Stone
Emma took a huge risk wear this Giambattista Valli gown which has an uncanny resemblence to that of Nicole Kidman's look at the 2007 Academy Awards. I think this is one tricky move and Emma just didn't pull it off nearly as well as Nicole did; the bow is far far too big for around her neck and she looks almost lost in the dress.

Glenn Close
This Zac Posen dress just has way too much going on for my liking. Glenn looks great for her age and I think ther look would have been far better with the jacket. The detailing of the dress with it's part-fishtail and lace detailing combined with the tailored jacket all was just too busy for me. I love the emerald green colour though!

Lea Thompson
Lea wore a glitter-tastic dress and a metalic silver shaul which all looked too disco ball for me. Her hair and jewellery really were great but the dress was not the best, there's a time and a place for that much glitter and it isn't the Oscars...

Meryl Streep
I forever find myself torn when it comes to Meryl's looks. I have to admit she does look great but I can't get past just how metalic her Lanvin gown is. I think the style is very flattering for her and her whole styling is great, maybe if the dress had been in a different colour then it would have worked better.

Well thats it for my best and worst looks from the Academy Awards. These are my opinions and I'd love to hear yours too; who was your best and worst of the night?

LAVISH LEOPARD

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6

It never fails to surprise me each time I go out the amount of leopard print I see walking the streets. It's definitely a timeless classic look that can be adapted for the minimalist or the extremist. I personally love leopard print but don't like to wear too much of it; I do wish I had more piece though sometimes. My favourite, and newest addition, is my leopard print suede loafers (as pictured above) which I got from New Look. I adore these shoes so so much and when it came to a choice between these and plain black ones, I was certainly persuaded by the print.

Whether you're opting for a simple pair of leopard shoes like myself, or going all out with a leopard fur coat or skater dress, you can guarantee to be on trend wearing anything resembling the African wild cat.

Are you a fan of leopard print? What's your favourite piece if you are?

BRIT AWARDS 2012: BEST AND WORST DRESSED

I'm never really a fan of the fashion at music awards; I definitely think they are more to showcase the talent and less of a 'wow' moment in terms of what the stars are wearing. There were some real hits last night though at the BRIT Awards which left me surprised...there were also some real misses which I sort of expected.

Best Dressed

Lana Del Rey
Lana opted for a striking red Vivienne Westwood gown with a simple silhouette and off-the-shoulder neckline which flattered her figure well. She matched her dress with red nails and her hair swept to one side which just created a real simple put classic look.

Rihanna
For me Rihanna is very hit and miss but last night she really hit the mark with this gold embellished Givenchy gown and matching studded heels. One thing that confused me a little was the borne leather gloves she wore but after much consideration I have decided that they are different and that's why I like them. Again with the dark roots though Rihanna!!

Christina Perri
Christina's look was one of my favourites of last night because she didn't look too 'done' which matches her style and music well. She opted for a red sequin embellished dress which is completely sheer at the top and then moves down to a simple skirt at the bottom. I also love her two-toned hair which she kept down - and specifically placed - to keep her modesty I presume looking at that dress!

Nicole Scherzinger
Nicole wore a pale lemon Versace dress with studded detailing and a simple figure-higging shape. She paired the dress with tan wedges, simple jewellery and her trademark flowing hair. This colour really compliments Nicole's skin, but I would have loved to see her wearing black or dark purple.

Jessie J
This red mesh gown screams Fergie's Grammys look from a mile but Jessie made her own mark on the dress pairing it with matching hot pants and pinned back curls. The dress showcased strategically placed floral lace throughout and a layered floor skimming skirt. This look is definitely striking and Jessie J really got it right this time.

Worst Dressed

Florence Welch
Florence looks like a statue in this dress and not in a good way! This Alexander McQueen gown is virtually the same nude shade as her skin tone which really isn't a great look. It has far far too much going on with all the frills and ruffles and then she chose to pair it with eccentric gold jewellery which don't exactly help. I just really really don't like this whole look...she looks like she's walked straight out of a victorian story or something.

Adele
Adele chose a plain black gown with sheer sleeves and neckline. I do like the dress but there's nothing that jumps out at me; it's all too samey and predictable. This is the type of dress Adele wears at almost every event and I think she should opt for maybe a different cut or even a different colour just to mix it up a bit. This look in in my worst dressed section soley because I've seen it before - several times!

Alexandra Burke
This dress could have worked if the gladiator style wood-like shoulders weren't there! The vibrant purple really suits Alexandra's skin tone and the fit of the dress is really nice but I can't look past the ridiculous shoulders. I think Alexandra really was trying to take us to Ancient Rome with the armour effect dress and the tight plaited hair. Definitely a worst dressed for me.

Undecided

Kylie Minogue
Kylie chose a stunning blue Yves Saint Laurent dress with a small embellishment at the waist. This dress is admittedly really great with the subtle slit and the synched waist but I just feel like it's too simple. I would have liked to see her pair it with a striking necklace or a bracelet which would have added to the overall look more than the earrings do. I'm not saying I don't like this look, I'm just saying it isn't my favourite.

So that's it for my best and worst dressed from the BRIT Awards; do you agree with my choices? Whose look was your ultimate best and worst of the night?

Lily Collins Covers Nylon

I honestly had to look twice at this cover; is it just me or did anyone else think Nina Dobrev had landed two Nylon covers in a row?! Well everyone, sorry to disappoint (or not in some cases) but the March issue of Nylon actually has been taken by 'Mirror Mirror' star Lily Collins.

This cover is okay; but nothing really jumps out at me and makes me say 'wow'. I think it's definitely a typical Nylon cover; bright but simple. I will say though that Lily's editorial is a bit more surprising with two beach shots and then two completely different studio shots.

What do you think of Lily Collins' cover? Who would you rather have seen cover the march issue of Nylon?

First Vogue Now Mulberry - Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey is the new up-and-coming music sensation of 2012 who landed this years March cover of Vogue and now has a Mulberry bag dedicated to her called 'The Del Rey'.

The bag was announced just hours before Mulberry's Autumn/Winter catwalk and they have said it was inspired by Lana's 'old-school glamour'. The bag has a very vintage but simple look with two handles and Mulberry's classic lock design. The Del Rey will be available from May of this year in standard Mulberry colours like the classic tan and the adventurous colours like berry red will come as part of the Autumn/Winter collection.

So what did Lana herself have to say about Mulberry's dedication: 'I love the design, a perfect mix between old school Hollywood and contemporary style. It’s an honour that such a classic and prestigious brand would name a bag after me.'

What are your thoughts on The Del Rey? Do you think it's too soon for her to have a bag named after her?

Poor Little Bitch Girl - Jackie Collins

Poor Little Bitch Girl is the first Jackie Collins book I have read and although I'd heard lots of great things about her books, I still wasn't quite sure what to expect. I bought this book on a whim after finding it in ASDA for only £2...£2 for a book nowadays is something you don't see often!

The title of the book refers to Annabelle Maestro, the daughter of two famous Hollywood movie stars who goes off on her own to New York to run a 'high-end' call girl service with her drug addict boyfriend Frankie. Annabelle is the character the title refers to but in the book she is only a piece of the puzzle, the main character is Denver Jones, an up-and-coming lawyer to the stars. These characters and the other high-flying individuals are all thrown together when Annabelle's mother is brutally murdered in her LA home.

The story is told through the eyes of Denver and she is supposed to be the character the readers can relate to most' being a working, confident and smart woman. I found it hard sometimes to really relate to her though, I feel her character was a little confused, in parts unsure of herself but in others very confident and opinionated. Whether this was Jackie Collins aim or not, I was left wanting more of a sense of who Denver actually is as a character.

Poor Little Bitch Girl is written in chapters each titled as a character; Annabelle, Denver, Caroline, Bobby and Frankie, showing their connections to each other and to that of Annabelle's mother and her murder. I do really like how this book is written, I really got a sense of who Jackie Collins is as a writer which, having not read any of her books before, was really great for me. The book came across as very 'current' and almost as though it had been taken straight from a newspaper or magazine. There was clearly research done to give a sense of Hollywood and frequently I saw moments where names were dropped which made the book come across as more real and less fictional.

This book was certainly a page turner and from the first sentence 'Belle Svetlana surveyed her nude image in a full-length mirror, readying herself for a thirty-thousand-dollar-an-hour sexual encounter with the fifteen-year-old son of an Arab oil tycoon'; I knew I was in for an interesting and somewhat scandalous read. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a love for all things Hollywood or anyone who likes a real page turner...or if you simply want a little more of a 'shocking' read about sex, money, power, murder, betrayal and love

Switched at Birth

I get I'm a lot behind on this one but, I started watching Switched at Birth the other day after seeing it advertised and already I have found myself hooked. It is basically about two teenage girls who find out that they were switched at birth. One of the girls, Bay Kennish (Vanessa Marano), grew up in a wealthy family with two parents and a brother and the other girl, Daphne Vasquez (Katie Leclerc) grew up in a bad neighbourhood with just her mother - her father left after she lost her hearing due to meningitis when she was two. The Kennish's - John (D.W Moffett) and Kathryn (Lea Thompson) - invite Daphne and her mother Regina (Constance Marie) to live in their guest house in the hopes that both families can get to know each other better.

After reading up on this show I honestly didn't know what it was going to be like. It seemed like such a predictable storyline with a very 'unknown' cast so I wasn't sure whether to watch it or not. After watching ten episodes I can now say that I was wrong to judge it by what I read and I actually think it's a great, low-cost show. The acting is good, not the best but still good and the stories within the main storyline really are quite deep at times - and then other times quite predictable again.

The show focuses a lot on Daphne and her being deaf. The Kennish's must learn how to communicate with her in a way that is easy for both them and her and they are also introduced to other people in her life such as her best friend Emmett (Sean Berdy) and his mother Melody (Marlee Matlin) who are also both deaf. When I saw that Marlee Matlin was in the show I was so happy because I think she is a really great actress - especially in The L Word - and I don't think they could have chosen anyone better to play Emmett's mother. Also, having not seen many of the other actors in the show before I was unsure what they would be like but I have to say that they aren't all that bad; Constance Marie and Lea Thompson have to be my favourites though because I think they are both really great in the show; their characters are so likable and their interactions with each other are priceless at times.

Those of you who have continued to read this long are now probably wondering; what happens now the families know and where is Daphne's father? Well, I'm not going to tell you what happens next because I think it's only fair that you find out for yourself but I will however tell you who will play the allusive missing father - Gilles Marini (yes the guy in the beach house next to Samantha in Sex and the City!!)

Other cast in the show are; Lucas Grabeel (I know you all immediately thought of High School Musical then haha) as Bay's brother Toby, Austin Butler as Toby's best friend Wilke and Blair Redford as Ty.

That's it, I really would recommend this show to anyone, it is quite predictable and the acting isn't the best but I really like it and I think it is worth the time. Also I just found out now that it got picked up for 22 more episodes in January - but not as a 'season two' but as an extended season one....

BAFTAs 2012: Best and Worst Dressed

I'm the first to admit that when it comes to British television and movies I'm usually not a fan. I just think that very few British actors can actually act - that is only my opinion though. However, last night at the British Academy Television Awards the stars came out in force and I have to say that there were some really lovely dresses on the red carpet. I have narrowed it down to three best and three worst but I'll say this now; no one really stood out to me...

Best Dressed

Joanne Froggatt
Joanne was definitely the wow of the night for me wearing a black Victoria Beckham gown with an exposed zip all the way down the back. This dress fitted her perfectly and her look from head to toe was just beautifully simple with a clashing gold clutch and a simple half-up waved hairstyle. This look is up there with my best of the best this awards season.

Fearne Cotton
I'm not usually a fan of Fearne's style but last night she really did look great wearing a salmon Moschino gown with a high neck and bow detail belt. I would say though that the jewellery is a bit matchy matchy and I just wish she would have chosen only one ring maybe? Overall I love this look, I think she looks great - especially her hair!

Miss Piggy
I felt it was necessary to include Miss Piggy in my best dressed section because quite frankly she looked great! Wearing a Louis Vuitton dress and various pearls and diamonds Miss Piggy interviewed stars as they walked the red carpet and so I think it was only fair I included her :)

Worst Dressed

Edith Bowman
Edith Edith Edith, what were you thinking? This vintage Dior dress screams unflattering; the length is peculiar and I just want to rip the sleeves off and to top that off; the shoes aren't that great and the gloves are just all wrong.

Meryl Streep
First off I just want to say how awesome it was that Meryl won for her performance of Margaret Thatcher but I'm just sad that she chose to dress like her character for the awards! This black Vivienne Westwood gown just didn't work for me, I don't like the huge shoulders of the 'jacket' and then the dress is not really Meryl. Normally she opts for very age appropriate and flattering things which this dress is not...

Penelope Cruz
I may be alone with this one but I really don't like Penelope's Armani Prive dress. The colour suits her well and I like the skirt of the dress but it's just from the waist up that doesn't really work for me. I don't understand the squared off panel neckline and the excess material around the waist. I think this dress with a heart shaped neckline would have been so much better.

That's it for my best and worst looks of the BAFTAs; do you agree? Who was your best and worst dressed of the night?
