I've been trying to make my instagram better these past few weeks, editing photos more and actually thinking when I take them. I think it's looking better. Anyway, this week I've eaten a lot of left over chocolate from Christmas, I started writing to a friend on twitter - got myself a pen pal finally which is exciting - and I did a bit of shopping which was quite successful I'd say. I now plan this next week to be filled with eating more chocolate and finishing off all the essays I have - fun times!

Not forgetting that it's New Years Eve today; got half a day at work today and then the day off tomorrow, shopping I think. I've also been thinking about any new years resolutions I'd like to make, there isn't many, just a few. Are you looking forward to 2013? Do you have any resolutions?

SCARLETT JOHANSSON COVERS ELLE UK

Scarlett Johansson covers the February 2013 issue of Elle UK wearing a white dress by Victoria Beckham and Manolo Blahnik for Beckham peep-toe boots. Scarlett looks amazing on this cover, I love the whole look, even the slightly unflattering boots. I really can't wait to see there accompanying editorial shot by Rankin and I have real high hopes for the subscribers cover following this!

This issue hits newsstands on January 2nd, but you can check out a preview over at Elle UK. What do you think of Scarlett Johansson's February cover of Elle? Are you a fan of the all white look?

MERRY CHRISTMAS

This is a slightly belated Merry Christmas, but I just wanted to share some photos from my day as I myself, love seeing them from others. I also want to say that I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and Boxing day with your loved ones and that you got everything you hoped for - and ate everything!

Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! and Seasons Greetings for another year.

NAILS | MODELS OWN DISCO MIX

Models Own 'Disco Mix' & Rimmel 'Purple Pulse'

I'm actually really annoyed at how badly these nails photographed using my camera; they were just too terrible to put up so I thought I'd use an instagram photo instead which really does do them justice.

I wanted to do my nails a bit christmassy without using red and/or green so I thought glitter was the next best option. I've had Disco Mix by Models Own for a while now but haven't gotten around to using it until now. I really alternating nail colours, this could become my signature nail look I think. Anyway, the polish itself applied really well and needed three coats to be completely opaque which for glitter isn't bad at all. The purple colour on my other nails is by Rimmel and isn't all that great to be honest, but it's the only colour I had that would go with the glitter so it'll do.

I can't stop starring at my nails, I love them so so much! I'm excited to try out more glitter combinations, do you have any recommendations?

IT'S STARTING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS

Just an update. I didn't realise that I haven't posted on here in three days and that makes me feel awful! I started a job this week and have been working 9-6 each day leaving me exhausted when I get home - being a student doesn't prepare you at all for a full time job! Anyway, that aside, it's four days until Christmas and my house is looking super festive, so I thought I'd share a few photos with you. The first five are from the living room, very coordinated, and the last is my tree in my room which matches nothing but I like it.

Hopefully regular blogging will resume asap, I've missed it rather a lot! Merry Christmas!

GIFT IDEA | JAMES BOND 007 GOLD FOR MEN

007 Gold Limited Edition - £25 (50ml) and £34 (75ml)

Christmas is coming around so quickly this year, and with just less than a week to go, I can almost guarantee there's a few people in your life that you are struggling to think of gift ideas for. I thought I'd do a few posts this week with last minute ideas for gifts and a really great idea for most people is a fragrance, and if the person you are buying for also happens to be a James Bond fan, then I honestly think this one would be really good for them.

The James Bond 007 fragrance comes in a limited edition gold bottle and would be great for any dads, husbands, boyfriends, friends or any men in your life in fact. It is described as having notes of Vetyver, lavender, crisp apple and warm musky woods which to me sounds like a very masculine scent certainly reflective of James Bond. I also really like the idea of the limited edition bottle, I think it could be a great thing to have forever and which man doesn't want to feel like James Bond?

GWEN STEFANI COVERS US VOGUE

I'm not sure if I can explain in words how much I love Gwen Stefani's cover of US Vogue. I just adore it; it's so fun, interesting and very surprising and I just want to run out and buy it right now - sadly this can't happen yet. The January cover was shot by Annie Leibovitz and features pieces from the YSL Spring 2013 collection, including a statement hat which works perfectly with this shot.

You can see the accompanying editorial and read the interview here. Are you as much of a fan of Gwen's January cover as I am?

This is definitely a very Christmas filled instagram week. I came home on Thursday and since then it's been days full of putting up decorations and lots and lots of lights! I can't quite believe it's only nine days until Christmas, it has actually flown by so quickly.

I hope you're having a lovely weekend, and are feeling super festive too!

RIMMEL'S KATE MOSS MATTE LIPSTICK | 107

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick - Boots (£5.49)

I realise I'm late to the party with this one, but I have honestly been meaning to pick up one of the shades from the Rimmel Kate Moss matte collection since they were released back in October. I felt like I wanted to wait and see what others thought first and then base my choice on that and so, that is why I ended up getting the deep red shade in 107.

Normally I tend to stick to nudes and lighter, less daring shades, but I thought I'd go out of my comfort zone a bit and pick up this one which really seems to be a cult favourite at the moment. When I first applied this lipstick it shocked me a little as I'm not used to darker colours, but after a while, it started to grow on me and now I really like it. Although it's a matte formulation, it's not drying at all and the finish is a softer, smoother looking matte than other lipsticks I've tried. It also goes on the lips easily and it lasts for quite a while before you need to reapply; I'd say around three to four hours!

I would highly recommend this lipstick if you are looking for a dark berry red shade, that's matte but not drying at all. I much prefer the offerings of this Kate Moss collection and I'm hoping to pick up a few more of the shades soon. Have you tried any from the collection that you'd recommend?

OUTFIT | RED LIP & FAUX FUR

coat: given to me, shirt jeans and necklace: topshop, boots: ebay, watch: michael kors, lips: rimmel kate moss 107, nails: barry m 'racing green' and
saffron '07' glitter

Today was the first time I have ever worn a red lipstick and I actually quite liked it. I've never been daring enough to wear any bold colour but a few weeks ago I bought the Rimmel Kate Moss 107 lipstick that soooo many people have and today thought; yes I'm going to wear this. It actually looks a lot lighter in these photos, it's a very deep red shade, hopefully I'll get a post up on it soon so you can see the actual colour!

This outfit is one I rather like, and I finally managed to photograph my fur coat on, mission accomplished! I worn this military-esque khaki shirt, black jeans my beloved chelsea boots that now have glued together soles - sad times - and a gold and cream skull necklace which I love so much. I think this outfit is quite simple but the lips are quite bold so I thought it worked well.

I'm off home tomorrow and am currently preparing myself for the lonely four hour drive - not looking forward to it at all! At least it means I'll be home and can help put up the Christmas decorations on Friday!

OUTFIT | RACING GREEN & NEON

jumper: topshop, skirt: redherring, boots: ebay (topshop), bracelet: pandora, nails: barry m 'racing green'

Words cannot express how difficult it is to take outfit photos in this terrible daylight we are having! Hopefully over Christmas the lighting in my photos will be better as I'll be at home, may even try some outside shots. Anyway, this is the outfit I wore today, I love this neon yellow jumper, and as with yesterday's outfit, it has stud detailing which I love. I paired it with this 'wet-look' skirt from Redherring which is somewhere I never usually buy from, but I saw this and knew I had to have it. It's just something a bit different to the usual black skater skirt. I also wore my black faux fur coat too but it didn't photograph well at all today!

Today has been a mentally exhausting day, it started with a shorthand exam that I felt went quite well which is good, then I had a mock exam and then a two hour lecture on media law. I don't think I have concentrated as much I have today in a long time. Phew! Tomorrow should be a quiet day though, just one class and then packing to go home on Thursday! Eeeeek!

OUTFIT | STUDDED COLLAR

jacket and shirt: primark, jeans: topshop, boots: ebay (topshop), earrings: earnest jones, nails: models own 'nude beige'

My aim this week is to do a 'five days, five outfits' kind of thing which I think will be fun! I'm not promising that I'll be able to do it as I'm going home on Thursday (four hour drive!), but I will try The first day commences with this ensemble, and I have decided from this that I would like to burn this jacket! Walking round university today I spotted six people wearing the exact same jacket, not even a variation, the EXACT same one which is terrible! I realise it's Primark but I didn't think that nay people would have it! A few people wearing it were even sat near me in lectures...eeeeek!

That aside, I thought I'd pair the jacket with this spotty shirt as I haven't worn it before (having had it for a fair few months) and really like the black and khaki combination. The reason I bought this shirt was actually for the collar which I love, I really do like the spike/stud trend that has been around for a while now; I'm a fan.

This week has just been a week of handing in work and preparing for assignments to do over Christmas - hence the giant pile of books! In between that I finally went to watch Breaking Dawn: Part 2, and without giving anything away, wow, the ending was so good! This weekend has been pretty quiet, I've just caught up with some magazine reading and spent most of today editing on photoshop, the painstakingly long process that it is! I feel like I'm definitely on a wind down now and am certainly ready to go home next week for Christmas (four sleeps).

WISHLIST | CHRISTMAS EDITION

I thought I'd change up my usual wishlist posts and make a Christmas special. These are just things that I would really love to receive, although they might also give you a few gift ideas yourselves!

Topshop Adonis2 Cut Out Boots | I've seen these boots floating around for a while now and I recently saw them in a local Topshop and couldn't bring myself to part with them - I eventually did! I really need a good pair of boots and I just love the buckle detailing on these.

Stylist: The Interpreters of Fashion | I actually borrowed this book from my university's library for an  assignment but I actually really want it for myself now. I love big, photographic fashion books and hope to build my collection!

Sons of Anarchy Season 1 | This show has quickly become my new favourite show. I only started watch it in October I think and I'm already nearly caught up with season 5! I'm one of those people who likes to have TV box sets and this is the next one on my list.

Kardashians for Dorothy Perkins Purse | As much as I love my Ted Baker purse, I really wish I got one in black as it gets so dirty so quickly. I saw this purse a few weeks ago though and I love it (admittedly I did fall more for the Kardashian name than the purse).

Enrapture Heated Hair Rollers | I've been enjoying having my hair curly lately but I find it doesn't last at all using my straighteners and it's a bit too 'messy'. These are probably one of the things I want the most because they just look like they give the most beautiful curls to your hair.

Topshop Big Gem Sweatshirt | I've had my eye on this for a while, I love the big gems on the front and also the elbow detailing of them too. It's black and I almost always wear black, so it'll fit into my wardrobe nicely.

Well, that is my Christmas wishlist, what is on your list this year?

FAVOURITE WINTER 'TREND' | FAUX FUR

When it comes to winter, I'll admit, I'm not one of those people who likes to wear a million and ones layers; even if I really should! One thing I do love about the winter though, is the chance to break out the faux fur again, which I miss so much during the warmer months. Fur seems to be a timeless trend that returns each year without fail, and even more so this year it seems.

Fur - faux or real - I would imagine is a love/hate thing, and not to everyones taste but I personally love it and this year I've gone a bit fur mad! I have two fur coats, one that I got last year and one this year and I love them both so much. It just makes me feel so toasty and warm, so who needs a tonne of layers eh? A recent fur purchase of mine is this H&M collar which I had my eye on for ages and then finally just bit the bullet and bought it; it works well with so many different things and can really make something boring look a little more special.

Next there's hats, and I realise that all these aren't fur, but I thought I'd just include them all anyway! I've had the panda hat for a few years now and it's just so cute, but now that sooo many people own it, I don't like to wear it as much. I also have a plain black, beanie style and then a black and grey 'glitter' beanie with a fur bobble on top. The newest addition is my full fur hat complex with ears and bobbles; this is by far the warmest hat, even if it isn't the most practical.

SIENNA MILLER COVERS HARPERS BAZAAR UK | JANUARY 2013

I honestly thought I'd already published this post a few days ago, clearly not! Anyway, this is the January 2013 cover of Harper's Bazaar with their cover-star, Sienna Miller.

I really love the whole cover, I'm not sold on Sienna's face - it looks a little awkward - but I think the styling is incredible with the pale pink pleated piece, the subtle hair and nude nails. Soft pastels seem to be a running theme throughout January covers! This is Harper's Bazaar 'Body Issue' and it includes an interview with Sienna about her body image, and the journey she has taken.

I'm looking forward to picking up myself a copy of this issue! Are you a fan of Sienna Millers soft, pastel cover?

MALLZEE | 'MAKING SHOPPING SOCIAL'

I was recently contacted about a new online shopping website that is due to be launched later this year. The website is Mallzee.com and it prides itself on making the online shopping experience more social which seems like a concept everyone would enjoy and also one I have never come across before.

Users of the website will be able to create their own personalised shopping 'mall' by choosing their favourite stores and brands. The software at Mallzee will then find products to match each individuals personal style and will showcase them in the mall. Now to me this seems like an amazing concept and one I'm super excited to try out, who wouldn't want their own personalised mall?

Mallzee currently has over 200 brands signed up including some well known ones like New Look, Urban Outfitters and Fell Unique. One of the more social aspects of the site is the integrated Facebook chat option and also the ability to share you mall with friends; plus get their opinions on pieces you've found. An added bonus to this is that you earn money every time you or someone else buys from your mall. Getting paid to shop, I like that idea and it'd take away some of the guilt too!

One last thing, if you sign up to Mallzee.com now for the pre-launch, you could be in with a chance of winning £100! Great eh?

**Disclaimer: I am not being paid or sponsored to feature this site. They emailed me and I thought it was a great concept and wanted to tell you all about it.**

RITA ORA COVERS GLAMOUR UK | JANUARY 2013

The minute I heard that Rita Ora was to cover the January 2013 issue of Glamour, I was super excited. I loved her ASOS magazine shoot so much and she always looks amazing on the red carpet *cough EMAs *cough*, so I had high hopes for this cover and I'm not disappointed at all! Rita wears a floral Christian Dior dress and a pair of vintage drop Chanel earrings; this is a very different look for her, but it suits her well.

Are you happy to see Rita Ora covering Glamour UK? Do you like her softer Christian Dior look?

DURHAM

If you couldn't tell by the title, today I went to Durham, mainly because I wanted to see the Christmas market there. The market itself wasn't great, it was very busy and mainly consisted of jams and cheese which didn't really feel very 'Christmasy' to me. What did feel like Christmas though were the Reindeers! I got to see one for the first time (actually three!) and they let you stroke it too; it was incredible. That I think was the highlight of my whole day.

One thing that was far from a highlight is how cold it was. I actually cannot put into words how cold I felt walking round, but lets just say, I couldn't move my fingers at one point! This then prompted me to buy some much-needed gloves and the best hat you will ever see, ears and all. I also bought a vintage brooch from a small market type stall, which is something I've been looking for for absolutely ages but haven't ever found one that isn't sparkly or gold. Anyway, I did find this one and it's perfect, and it looks lovely on my faux fur coat too.

As for the rest of the weekend, I plan to finish off a few pieces of work that I have and then catch up on some television; I feel so behind on everything. I hope you all had a lovely Saturday and ta-ta for now!
