I think these photos sum up that this week I moved back to university, I bought too much, and surprisingly didn't instagram as much food as I usually do...I'm doing well!

So yes, I made the journey back to my university to embark on my second year of study - this time doing Fashion Journalism which is definitely the path I want to take. This week has been horrible weather-wise, all it has done is rain rain rain and of course I found myself left with a horrible cold which I'm still getting over now as I sit here writing this, snuggled up warm in bed.

Also, last week I finished at my job I'm been at all summer. It wads actually weird leaving; I'd gotten so used to getting up, going to work, coming home each day and although at the time I did moan all the time that I hated it, thinking about it now, I actually did enjoy it as a whole. On my last day everyone on the team brought in food too and we all feasted...and then rolled out of the building at the end of the day - wow I ate a lot that day!

Last but certainly not least, I thought it'd be a nice idea to share with you what I'm currently listening to at the end of a few of my posts; more than likely these ramble kinds.

current playlist: dark paradise lana del rey, you haven't seen the last of me burlesque (cher), what's in it for me faith hill, fear and loathing marina and the diamonds, someday nickel back, while you're out looking for sugar joss stone.

JESSIE J COVERS ELLE UK

It seems odd saying it, but magazine are already starting to release their November issues and the first of those is Elle UK with Jessie J gracing the cover. The singer was photographed by Rankin for her debut Elle cover wearing a Dolce & Gabbana sleeved bodysuit. The accompanying editorial sure does promise great things, I'm just not completely sold on the cover image yet, Jessie's face looks awfully stiff; hopefully the shoot inside will be better. AND, a limited edition collectors issue is on its way to all subscribers - yay!

Do you like Jessie J's cover of Elle UK? Will you be buying this issue, or, are you a subscriber like myself?

SHOP DIXI | ENCHANTED COLLECTION & DISCOUNT CODE

I've been lucky enough to get a sneak peek of some of the new pieces that will be arriving at Shop Dixi this Sunday and I'm just so excited to share them with you. The new collection is called 'Enchanted' and features crystals, mystic stones and various other jewels. I just love them all!

For those of you who aren't aware, Shop Dixi are an online store offering a mix of vintage and modern jewellery and clothing at what I would consider to be very reasonable prices. I have been a fan of them for some time now and would highly recommend that you all go and check out the pieces currently online and then definitely the above pieces which I want I want to remind you won't be available until this Sunday (30th). My personal favourites from the collection are the skull stone necklace and the pink crystal bracelet; definitely going to buy these!

Lastly, I'm excited to tell you that for the week following the Sunday release - ending 7th October - you can use the code 'BLOGGERDISC' at the checkout which will give you free UK shipping on all orders over £15. Everyone needs to get themselves off to Dixi and have a look at all the pieces they have, just please don't all rush for the pink skull necklace; I kind of like that for myself...

Well that's all from me today, I hope you enjoyed reading this, it's not really a usually type of post for me but I just loved seeing the new collection and sharing it with you, thank you Dixi for giving me a chance to see this sneak peek! Which is your favourite piece from the 'Enchanted' collection?

OUTFIT | FLORAL RED LEATHER

Jacket: Topshop (tall)
Dress: New Look
Leggings: Primark
Shoes: Toms (Schuh)

As you may or may not be able to tell from the background in these images, I'm not at home at the moment; I'm actually back at university staying in halls hence the ugly looking door! This is my first attempt at taking my own outfit photos and though they aren't great, I just think it'll take a little time to get the hang of it. You get the gist though!

I wore this dress today from New Look, taking advantage of the first day in the north east where it isn't raining all day. I've had this dress a while but I just haven't got around to wearing it - it creases like anything which is uber annoying if you're sitting down all day - so I took the opportunity today and paired it with my new biker jacket which I love. I finally found a jacket that fits perfectly, seems good quality and has the added fur collar which I like.

As you can see from the lack of accessories photos, I didn't wear any jewellery today for the simple reason that I forgot. Theres also no nail photo because I'm letting them 'breathe' for a while...I'm sure that'll last a week at most. Anyway, enough of my rambling, I hope you're all having a lovely week and the weather isn't too bad for you; if you're in the UK I'm guessing it is bad though.

BEST AND WORST DRESSED: EMMYS 2012

So, last night brought us the Primetime Emmy Awards and I have to say, although there were some beautiful dresses donning the red carpet, there were also quite a few awful ones. Here my thoughts on the best and worst dress celebrities of the night...

BEST

Julianne Hough
Julianne Hough wore a sea foam blue Georges Hobieka couture gown which really does bare the resemblance to a mermaid with the heavily embellished trail. This dress is just stunning and paired with the simple clutch and up-do, Julianne was by far my best dress of the night.

Ginnifer Goodwin
Ginnifer Goodwin opted for a nude Monique Lhullier gown with beautiful burnt orange floral detailing. This dress along with her red Christian Louboutin  heels suited her perfectly and this is certainly one of my favourite of Ginnifer's red carpet looks.

Sofia Vergara
If you have read any of my other 'best dressed' posts you will probably have gathered that in my eyes, Sofia Vergara can do no wrong when it comes to her choice of what to wear on the red carpet. The Emmys were no exception to this where Sofia chose an extremely glitzy (I hate that word but it describes this dress perfectly!) Zuhair Murad piece with her usual fish tail finish. She was easily the most glamorous celebrity of the night!

Nicole Kidman
Nicole Kidman for me really is a hit or miss when it comes to her red carpets looks. At last nights Emmys though, she really did wow in a white Antonio Berardi dress, heavily embellished with a sequin design on the front. This is one of Nicole's best looks in a while and I think by pairing this with minimal jewellery and matching heels, she definitely is a best dressed for me.

WORST (in no particular order)

Christina Hendricks
Eeeek! I say in no particular order but Christina Hendricks look really does come close to being the worst! She wore a nude grey custom Siriano dress that although a flattering shape for her, the colour did her absolutely no favours and if anything, it left her looking rather washed out against her pale skin and red hair. On the plus side, she kept her make-up and accessories to a minimum with a statement red lip and diamond jewellery.

Julianne Moore
You know someone deserves to make it onto your worst dress list if she honestly cannot put together a sentence to describe a look. What an earth was Julianne Moore thinking with this yellow Christian Dior  couture gown. The cut is all wrong for me, I think as a sleeveless piece this could have been slightly more flattering, or even some detailing or just something to take away from the yellow. This does nothing for her figure or her pale complexion.

Julianna Margulies
As much as I am a fan of Julianna Margulies, I'm not very often a fan of her choice of red carpet looks with this being no exception. She wore a floral Giambattista Valli dress which has it's good points - I love the idea of having pockets - and the print isn't all that bad. It also has its really bad points like the overall shape of the dress which is very 'sack-like' and I understand her keeping everything else simple but I just think she went a little too simple with the pulled back hair and next to no jewellery.

Lucy Liu
Lucy Liu is definitely not someone I've ever mentioned before so it's a shame this time has to be because she is one of my worst dressed picks. Lucy wore a Versace dress made completely of metal (this makes me hate it even more) and I just don't understand what she was thinking when choosing this. This is by far one of the worst looks of the night for me, she looks like she belongs in a sci-fi movie!

UNSURE

Hayden Panettiere
This is my undecided pick from the night. Hayden Panettiere wore a metallic-look Marchesa gown with gold leaf detailing and a sheer blue overlay. Now from the back I adore this dress, it looks so beautiful, it fits her like a glove and the blue and gold combination really do work together so well. If I'd only seen the back of this dress she would be my favourite of the night but now onto the front...

....although I still love the blue and gold combination, the gold is less visible from the front so it honestly for me, just looks like she's wrapped herself up in a piece of blue material. The shape of the dress from the front doesn't really work for me either but I supposed this is still leaning more towards best dressed than worst. What are your thoughts on Hayden's look?

January Jones
January Jones wore a black Zac Posen dress structured into layers around the skirt. This dress definitely is not the worst of the evening by far, but for one, how an earth did she mange to sit down wearing it! Honestly though, back to the serious stuff, I'm just not a fan of all the structure this dress has, it just all looks too much; especially with the added all black accessories. Not the worst, not the best. I'm sure some will disagree. What are your thoughts?

Other notable celebrity looks last night came from Leslie Mann wearing Naeem Khan, Heidi Klum wearing Alexandre Vauthier, Giuliana Rancic wearing Romona Keveza, Julie Bowen wearing Monique Lhuillier and Zooey Deschanel wearing Reem Acra.

Did you watch the Emmys? Which are you best and worst dress celebrities of the night?

AUTUMN/WINTER OUTFITS | #PASSIONFORFASHION

Autumn has officially arrived here in the UK. Now although the sun does shine on that rare occasion still, its definitely getting colder and colder meaning an extra layer or two is certainly needed! Moneysupermarket.com are an online price comparison site who are currently running the #passionforfashion competition, in the hope to get everyone ready for the colder autumn/winter months whilst saving money! I've jumped aboard this competition and have searched high and low on high street online websites to find the best pieces for these seasons at hopefully, the best prices...

This has got to be my ideal outdoor autumn/winter outfit, it's just perfect for both comfort and warmth. It combines a lot of my favourite things at the moment what with the Topshop khaki/leather jacket which I know are available from so many different stores now; this one being one of my favourites. Also the boots are very Dr Martens-esque but to be honest, I prefer this pair from from River Island because of the military, slouchy look they have - they are much less structured which I like. I just went with black skinny jeans because everyone needs these in their wardrobe, they are just a staple piece that go with everything. This whole outfit came to £177.99 which for a complete look, including a jacket and a staple pieces, isn't all that bad!

When I think casual, I think comfort and with that in mind I think an oversized boyfriend cardigan is a must. I found this black cardigan from Miss Selfridge which is the perfect chunky knit and long length to layer over a basic/graphic tee like this one from Topshop. I then thought a loose fitting pair of skinny light wash jeans would be perfect, maybe turned up at the bottom, paired with some hi-top trainers and a Casio watch. This outfit came to £159.99 and for that price I don't really think you can go wrong for a look that you'll keep coming back to.

Under £100 for a full party outfit isn't half bad really. Baroque is a big trend this season and so I chose the New Look dress which embodies this trend so much and the mesh insert just breaks up the print perfectly. I based this entire look around the dress matching it with simple, but statement pieces of jewellery like two gold cuffs, black platforms and a black clutch - keep the accessories simple if the dress has a lot going on!

I think that for a first date it's really about making an impression but also being yourself and showing your own personal style. I chose a dress to add a feminine touch; a graphic dress at that to tie in with the t-shirt trend, with a slight high\low cut at the bottom. Then I paired this with black tights ad flats because you want to be comfortable as well as looking good. Then in case you go outside I chose a leather-look biker jacket from Topshop (which I own myself and love!) with a fur collar to again, add a more feminine feel to what could be a masculine piece.

This is the most expensive outfit of all of them and obviously, when choosing an office look, it really does depend on the dress code/how strict your office place is. So for this look I grid to keep it smart and simple with one key statement piece being these Topshop floral trousers. Now because the trousers are so out there, I went with mostly black for the rest of the look with a basic vest with zip detailing that could be tucked into the trousers, and then a pair of slight wedged flatforms (contradiction much?) which are very much a staple on-trend piece this season. What really made this outfit the most expensive is the Zara shopper which is perfect for any job and can fit a laptop, books, papers etc etc.

So there we have it, my five outfits for five different occasions all for under £200. This was such a fun little thing to do, finding all these pieces from high street stores and putting them together; it really does make you realise though just how much an entire outfit costs!

Have you entered the #passionforfashion competition? Which is your favourite of the five looks I've put together?

UNCONVENTIONAL TREND | FOX TAILS

For quite a while now I've been noticing more and more fox tails appearing on peoples bags it really seems to be becoming a trend that a lot are embracing. At first I thought it was silly, the idea of putting a tail on my bag for 'fashion' just seemed alien but for some strange reason, these past few weeks I've really been loving the trend and am even thinking about getting myself a fox tail!

I just think it can really change the whole look of a bag and an outfit and make it look different and as the title says, unconventional. I don't think this is for everyone, some will hate it, some will love it and some will definitely be on the fence.
What are your thoughts on this trend? Is it for you or should the tails remain on the foxes (I'm not suggesting you use real fur, faux is the way forward)!

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY COVERS VOGUE US

Keira Knightley covers the October issue of Vogue US following on from her brilliant cover of Harper's Bazaar last month. The actress wears a lace detail Chanel dress and a rather odd but fabulous pair of sliver gloves; this comes before her amazing editorial inside where she models various Haute Couture pieces. Photographed my Mario Testino, I don't think you can go wrong though whatever you're wearing, my favourite image is this one...

I just adore this dress by Dior and the whole quirky nature of this shot...fab! You can see a preview of the shoot and the interview here. Keira really is on a roll at the moment with two covers coming off the back of her promotion of her new movie Anna Karenina. I give her some credit, this cover is great.

What do you think of Keira Knightley's October cover of Vogue US? Will you be buying this issue?

JENNIFER LAWRENCE COVERS W MAGAZINE

When I heard that Jennifer Lawrence was to cover of the October issue of W magazine I really did have high expectations. Having now seen the cover though, I'l admit, I'm disappointed. The Hunger Games star is covered in feathers - very black swan esque - and this over the top look really doesn't suit her at all. That being said, you have to give her and W some credit for trying out such an extreme and out there look.

Jennifer was photographed by Tim Walker and you can see her full editorial here. I have to say, the editorial - although full of feathers - isn't all that bad, there are some really great shots in fact.

What do you think of Jennifer Lawrence's October cover of W magazine?

NEW | SPIKED COLLARS & LEATHER

First of all, wow black is hard to photograph! I couldn't get a close-up shot of the collar on this shirt if my life depended on it, so you will all just have to use your imagination and visualise the studs...

I've been really loving studs at the moment - hasn't everyone - and when I saw these two shirts in Primark I knew I needed them in my life. The cream shirt is very much a Zara copy just with koalas instead of leopards/dogs/ etc etc. I did initially want one of those shirts but after seeing this for a fraction of the price I thought it will do just the same. The black shirt is just amazing, I saw this and just ran to it. I'll admit, the studs are very cheap looking up close (they are plastic), but from far away I think this shirt looks really nice and much more expensive than what it was.

I finally got a leather jacket - well, a 'biker jacket' as it is called by the store. I have been looking for a jacket like this for ages but every time I see one, the sleeves are always too short or the fit is awful or something is wrong with it. This jacket however is exactly what I have been wanting; thank you Topshop. Not only does it fit perfectly, but it also feels really great quality and I love the fact it has a fur collar too...it's all about the collars at the moment. The fur does detach which I like because fur doesn't exactly go with everything.
