SUNDAY POST

I've decided to start doing a 'Sunday Post' every week to bring my blog to a more personal level. Yes, it is me writing my other posts, and yes they are things I like to talk about but I just feel like I want to make my blog more of a personal space as well as a space for reviews, photos, etc etc :)

01. Today I spent most of the time in the garden helping out. I say helped, I really just stood there passing my dad tools and cutting pieces of string (don't ask), which technically means I did help...I mean, it wouldn't have gotten done without my tool passing skills right?

02. I did also plan on taking a walk in the fields behind my house this evening in search of cows. Last night when I went I totally forgot my camera, tried to get it passed over the fence to me, it turned out the memory card was broken and that then lead to me attempting to climb our garden fence which isn't fun when you have literally no arm strength whatsoever. Now, I'm sitting here writing this contemplating whether or not to go and photograph the cows. Strike that idea, the cows aren't even there now :| typical.

03. The photo above shows the latest issue of Cosmopolitan which for me, is my first ever issue! Admittedly I was drawn to it because of the free tortoise shell sunglasses (there were two other pairs - I'm not a fan) but after quickly skimming through the pages I'm actually stunned as to why I'm only just buying this magazine now. It seems like a really good on the go/bored moments read.

04. I'm currently off University for the summer and luckily I managed to get myself a job literally a week after I finished! This job is definitely not what I strive to do with my life but for the summer it's perfect; it keeps me busy and I earn some money in the process. Not so great is the fact I have a six day working week to look forward to...this weekend, if nothing else, has been a much needed rest for me. Being a student really doesn't prepare you for full working days!

05. Speaking of money; there is so so much I want to buy right now. Mainly clothes but I do have my sights set on a mighty bag purchase hopefully in the not so distant future. I'm definitely finding that when I have money, I just want to buy everything I see...which isn't a good thing!

06. I now realise this has been a super rambling post and for that I apologise. If you got this far then congratulations to you.

I hope you all had a nice weekend!

I JUST WONDER ROUND WITH MY EYES WIDE SHUT.

Not much happening with me today, it's nice to have the weekend off work; a much needed rest. Today I popped to the town centre here to sort out just things (boring stuff) and on my way back to the car  thought I'd stop by Topshop and River Island which are real love hate stores for me. I used to hate Topshop, I don't know why, I just always refused to go in. Now however, I have a huge list of things I want to buy from there. River Island on the other hand, I went through a phase where that was pretty much the only store I went in but now I just don't like it at all, but today I noticed they have a little jewellery section where everything seemed to be under £5; it wasn't all tat either!
I picked up this dainty skull bracelet for the lovely price of just £3 - I'm liking skull jewellery at the moment for some reason...I also picked up the ever famous ombre ring from Topshop as well as a pair of eye earrings similar to the ring they did a while back (which I never managed to get hold of). These both added up to just £5 which isn't even the price one would have been out of the sale!

On another note, I decided to go for a spontaneous walk earlier which led to me 'cow watching' and in awe at the baby cows (I know they are calves but 'baby cows' sounds much cuter).

^_^ so cute!

Hopefully there will be more cow photos to come soon, had a problem with my camera, long story, it's okay now though :) I'll apologise in advance if you aren't a fan of cows...juts ignore the post with 'cows' in the title :)

I think I've rambled enough for today...I'm off to read more of Divergent...I'm so behind on my book challenge! Bye!

SELENA GOMEZ COVERS ELLE US

Selena Gomez covers the July 2012 issue of Elle US wearing a strapless corset dress by Dolce & Gabbana and a flash of bright red lipstick making her appear somewhat older than her true age of 19. I do however love the dress alone, it's absolutely stunning.

This cover as a whole really is great, I do like the styling, the shot, the background, everything; but Selena's facial expression...I don't really understand what she was going for. I also don't understand why Elle chose Selena; she isn't who I'd normally think Elle's target audience would want to read about...maybe I'm wrong, maybe they are changing their target? Either way, I'll still be picking up a copy of this issue I think.

You can see parts of Selena's interview and accompanying editorial here. Are you a fan of Selena Gomez's Elle US cover? Will you be buying this issue?

GLITTER COVERED NYC MANHATTAN

NYC 'Manhattan' & Technic Rainbow Glitter

I want to start by apologising for the messy paint job on my right hand...the photo makes it look A LOT worse than it actually is; I tried but failed at tidying it up! Anyway, I just love this combination. I bought 'Manhattan' by NYC last week on a whim and then much to my delight came across the Technic rainbow polish on a market stall at the weekend and thought they would look perfect together. This glitter polish is my new favourite, it's just great and it only cost £2; bargain! I'm definitely more for a subtle hint of glitter like this on just one nail than having all my nailed glitter-afied...maybe that's just me?

NYC 'Manhattan' is a very dark purple/red shade that is very opaque so you could probably get away with one coat - I did two just as a matter of preference. I've now had this on my nails for about three days and it hasn't chipped, worn or marked which to be honest I'd be disappointed if it had after only three days. I'll probably end up changing my nails tomorrow anyway haha. As for the glitter, I technically only used one coat but it was a very thick coat so you could say I used two...I'm definitely one for going bold with the subtle hint of glitter (contradiction much?!)

Do you like glitter polish, if you do, more or less? And do you prefer to wear darker or lighter shades on your nails?

KRISTEN STEWART COVERS VANITY FAIR

Kristen Stewart has once again landed the cover of a magazine, this time appearing for the first time on Vanity Fair accompanied by a rather confused looking Pomeranian. This cover and the whole inside editorial was shot my Mario Testino in various locations across Paris so we are definitely in for a great high-fashion shoot. Kristen has appeared on so many covers this year, some being terrible and some being great but Vanity Fair's cover has to be my absolute favourite of hers, I just totally love this shot. Do you agree?

In an exclusive interview, Kristen tells Vanity Fair: "I have been criticized a lot for not looking perfect in every photograph. I’m not embarrassed about it. I’m proud of it. If I took perfect pictures all the time, the people standing in the room with me, or on the carpet, would think, What an actress! What a faker! What matters to me is that the people in the room leave and say, ‘She was cool. She had a good time. She was honest."

What are you thoughts on Kristen Stewart's Vanity Fair cover? Do you like her new 'glam', high-fashion look?

CLOTHES BEAUTY & A BIT OF RANDOM

I finally went shopping yesterday; it has been so long, and I thought I'd show you what I got!
For some reason refereeing comes to mind when I see this Primark blouse.
But hey, I like it still!

Black Vans.

Topshop Pink Skull Earrings (reduced yay!)
Technic Nail Polish in...glitter?!

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation (Natural Beige).
Cherry Carmex Lip Balm.
QVC Foundation Brush.

Marie Claire - Ciate 'Purple Sherbet'.
Harper's Bazaar - Leighton Denny 'Plush Pink'.

I realise I didn't buy the ever sought after Glamour with Benefit issue BUT I will be getting it soon as my grandma kindly got hold of a copy for me with the Bad Gal mascara.

I'm going to see if I can find the primer anywhere...doubtful though!
I love how many magazines are giving free gifts this month.

Well thats it! That's everything I bought; not a great deal but I did splurge a tad with the Vans. They were an impulse buy. Sort of.
