KRISTEN STEWART COVERS BRITISH VOGUE

source: hollywoodlife

The October issue of British Vogue is covered by Kristen Stewart who wears a printed piece from the Gucci Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. This cover comes after she was publicly shamed for cheating on Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson; interesting cover line choice, "on love and living dangerously"...

I can't make my mind up about this cover. It's sure to be a best seller for Vogue, but I just don't like her 'haunted' and dead expression, for me it's all too Twilight; hasn't that been done already? That being said, everyone is still very much interested in the scandal surrounding her so I don't think it will be much of an issue (no pun intended).

Do you like Kristen Stewart's October cover of British Vogue? Will you be buying this issue?

TEN DAY 'YOU' CHALLENGE #03

#10 random facts // #09 loves // #08 fears // #07 wants // #06 places // #05 foods // #04
books // #03 films// #02 songs // #01 picture of yourself.

I decided to write three moves I love, these are my favourites along with a whole host of others!

1. Sex and the City 2. I love this movie, I definitely prefer this to the first one for some reason, but this is definitely one I could watch over and over again. Samantha is hilarious!

2. Burlesque. This movie is brilliant, I'm a big fan of Cher so thats a big reason why I like this movie so much. I think musical movies are just so great in general!

3. Pirates of the Caribbean. All of them. BUT, if I had to choose one, I'd definitely choose 'On Stranger Tides' simply because I preferred the cast. Getting rid of Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom was a god move.

LADY GAGA | FAME

Lady Gaga - 'Fame' - £29.99 50ml (superdrug)

"Black like the soul of fame but transparent once airborne..."

As we all know, Lady Gaga isn't one to do things in halves, so when the release of her debut fragrance 'Fame' was announced, rumours began to fly about the ingredients it would contain. Some of the things it was said to contain were beyond weird and so obscure that I don't think even she could do that!

One rumour that was confirmed way before the perfumes release was that it would be a 'black fluid'. This is a first for the fragrance industry where the liquid itself, in the bottle, is black in colour but once airborne (sprayed) it turns clear...that would be awkward if it didn't!  This innovative idea came from Gaga's own Haus Laboratory in Paris and from seeing the website, it's no wonder her debut scent is so unusual!

Now onto the notes; this is what the experts say...
The scent itself is built around three main accords: dark, sensual and light. These notes include honey, saffron, apricot nectar, tiger orchid, jasmine sambac and inspiration from Belladonna. One thing though is that these notes don't work in the usual top, middle and base formation, they instead use a 'push-pull' structure which means the ingredients interact together to highlight different aspects of each note without the use of a hierarchy (typical Gaga!).

Anyway, onto what I actually think of it. I would like to admit first off, I was dead set I wanted this perfume but until yesterday when I bought it, I hadn't actually smelt it...I honestly just wanted it because it was Lady Gaga's and because of the bottle. That aside, I do actually like the scent thankfully; it's quite strong and has a very floral smell to it. I suppose in a way it is just like every other fragrance out there, which considering the hype it's had, is a bit surprising, that being said, there is a small element to it which I find to be quite unique and I'm definitely one for stronger scents so all is good on that front. I can't comment on the lasting power on the skin as I've only had it for a day but I did wear it today and it lasted a fair while, the notes changed throughout the day too which I liked.

Now the bottle. The bottle is actually amazing in everyday and is so typically Gaga. You can see that the fluid inside is black because of the clear glass bottle and the lid is in the shape of a claw which clicks on nicely and also free-stands when removed. This is certainly a bottle you would want to display! Also, the box is a beaut too, I mean, I'm not going to keep it in the box, but to look at, it is very ascetically pleasing, the whole concept it!

Will you be trying out Lady Gaga's 'Fame' perfume? Or, if you have already, what are your thoughts?

TEN DAY 'YOU' CHALLENGE #04

#10 random facts // #09 loves // #08 fears // #07 wants // #06 places // #05 foods // #04
books // #03 films // #02 songs // #01 picture of yourself.

1. Divergent. Love love love this book, it was such a great read and a real page turner - this kept me awake reading for hours - really want to read the next book, Insurgent!

2. The Sinner. So far, I've loved the Tess Gerristen, Rizzoli and Isles, series and I hope to read Body Double in the not so distant future. Real crime thrillers that had me hooked right from the word go.

3. Fifty Shades of Grey. Haha this book has been in the news a million and one times with a million and one different opinions on it; I personally, think the book is good, I don't think the huge hype is necessary though...

4. The Descendants. This was the dullest book ever! It actually pained me to read this, when I reached the end I had a mini party; the movie however, is so so good! Review
maybe soon?

GWEN STEFANI COVERS ELLE UK

This is shaping out to be a good few months for singer Gwen Stafani, what with the upcoming release of her new album No Doubt, her amazing cover of Harper's Bazaar US last month and now her October cover of Elle UK

This cover, although in my opinion not as great as her Harper's Bazaar cover, is still really great, I'm so excited to see her editorial, I'm now just intrigued as to what the subscribers cover will look like.

Gwen was photographed by Matt Irwin and as soon as I saw this cover I immediately thought; McQ! She wears a piece from the Autumn/Winter 2012 McQ collection and a piece from Peter Pilotto and I have to say, I love this whole look, these pieces are just beautiful.

You can get a sneak peek at her interview here, otherwise, you'll just have to wait for the release!

TEN DAY 'YOU' CHALLENGE #05

#10 random facts // #09 loves // #08 fears // #07 wants // #06 places // #05 foods // #04
books // #03 films // #02 songs // #01 picture of yourself.

Ooops! I completely forgot I was even doing this challenge...I apologise! For number five it is 'food' and I've taken this as five foods that I like to eat.

1. Fajitas. These have got to be my favourite food, I just love everything about them, especially if you make them with lots of vegetables; peppers, mushrooms, onions.

2. Chicken nuggets. I've actually just finished eating some nuggets tonight, I just love them dipped in tomato sauce...mmmmm.

3. Chicken Korma. But only from one indian takeaway near where I live. I have never found another korma that I actually like.

4. Chocolate fudge cake. This needs no explanation.

5. Ice cream. Chocolate ice cream to be precise and it has to be soft scoop or Ben and Jerry's.

Well, from this I think we can conclude that I like chicken, chicken, more chicken, oh and chocolate! This was actually the most random post I think I've ever written...

WISHLIST | TOPSHOP

Prime Time Blush

I don't think I've done one of these 'wish list' posts before, but I always enjoy reading them on other peoples blogs and thought, why not do one myself. Plus, browsing Topshop's website yesterday, I realised there were a fair few things that I wanted so here goes.

I'm definitely more of an Autumn/Winter dresser, I guess I just prefer layers? This really is reflected though in this wish list what with this black leather jacket (I'd go for the tall version!) which should be a staple in everyones wardrobe; I do own one, it's just too big...so out with the old and in with this lovely new one from Topshop I think, hopefully soon.

Following the winter theme, I also love this mint/pink oversized jumper which I think could look really good over a collared shirt - maybe a denim one? Speaking of shirts, I saw this blue print shirt on the tall sections and immediately wanted it. The print is very much like that of an old china plate or tea set, but it just looks so so nice even if it does have a rather hefty price tag in my opinion of £38!

Another staple is this black skater skirt; I can't believe I don't town one yet. This will just go with almost anything and I'm thinking, this, the lace socks and chelsea boots? The blazer I've had my eye on for a while but could never justify buying it. I love it, but then I think; will I get my wear out of it? It's still a beautiful piece and I can still wish...

Finally is the much loved and raved about lipstick, Pillow Talk, which I have been wanting to buy for absolutely ages now but have just never gotten around to it.

Do you have a current wish list? Silly question, doesn't everyone?
