Hospital Departments + Trafford Centre Buys

Today I went to my Grandma's house and sadly my Grandad is in the hospital at the moment so we then went there to visit him. While we were walking round I spotted signs for all the different departments and the first one we came across was 'Ante Natal and Gynaecology' and of course I immediately thought of Addison Montgomery (Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice reference!). Then I casually walked past an operating room and the Surgical Unit which fascinated me for a while and then I found none other than the Cardio Unit and the Orthopaedic Unit (more Grey's Anatomy references - Teddy and Callie!).

One thing I discovered today was that television shows like Grey's Anatomy really do give you a false sense of what hospitals are really like. For starters I saw no McDreamy's or McSteamy's, and then I discovered that doctors don't wear scrubs and lab coats, but instead just ordinary suits and ties - not very doctor-like if you ask me. Also, On Grey's Anatomy the doctors are always around or if they aren't then the nurses are; at real hospitals it's hard to spot a nurse or a doctor in sight! I wish hospitals were like they are on the television, I think patients would have a better time if they were.

Also today I went to the Trafford Centre for a nosey round and to pick up a few things. I absolutely love the Trafford Centre, anyone in the UK who hasn't been needs to get themselves there immediately! Anyway, enough of my ordering you around, whilst I was there I did end up picking up a few things from LUSH, Superdrug and Accessorize/Monsoon...

From LUSH I got the much raved about Honey I Washed The Kids Soap which actually smells amazing; I don't know why I haven't bought it sooner! I also got the Bubblegum Lip Scrub which I'm so excited about; it smells like Snow Fairy and it's bright pink so who wouldn't love it! I've heard such good things about both of these so I just had to try them for myself...

From Superdrug I got four things from the MUA brand; lipstick, lipgloss, eyeshadow and mascara. This brand was extremely cheap but I've heard a lot of people saying it's great so thought I'd give it a go...I don't wear a lot of make-up anyway so it'll be alright for me I'm sure. The lipstick is in shade 5 and is a pale shimmery pink colour - it is very very sheer, the lipgloss is also a shade 5 pale pink and shimmery colour and it smells really nice - I don't know if it's supposed to smell good or not haha. The eyeshadow is shade 7 and is a pearl green colour (I wanted something other than brown, but I'm not brave enough to wear blues or pinks) and the mascara is just the extreme volume black mascara.

From Accessorize I finally got a collar type necklace in silver! I have wanted one of these for a while now to wear with jumper and things like that. Then through to Monsoon I found a small floral address book for £2.40 (yes only £2.40!!!!!) so I had to have it; I mean who can say no to an address book that cheap...

My next perfume wish is Vera Wang Princess Night;I sprayed a sample and oh my gosh it's such a beautiful smell and the bottle is just so glittery and purple and heart-shaped and everything that is amazing in the world...

look how pretty it is!

***Quick Update***

Last night I finally used my LUSH Twilight bath ballistic and wow....I was in awe for about ten minutes just staring at it....I think I took about fifty photographs hahaha...

This is my all time favourite bath ballistic, it just about beats the Abominaball :)....it left me - and the whole bathroom - smelling amazing!

Also I got a new book in the mail the other day which I'm so excited to read after I've finished Stephanie Beacham's autobiography...

I've actually never been this excited to read a book in all my life...Tyra Banks 'Modelland' just looks so fun and insightful at the same time....

Last thing, I have been listening to this Glee song non-stop for about a week now...it's just so so so so good! Naya Rivera is quickly becoming my favourite Glee character; she has a brilliant voice!

Ummm so I think that's everything....I'm now off to watch The Lying Game, then I'll read and then sleep. I'm just so tired today....must have yawned about 20 times! :S

LUSH is calling...

Up until a few months ago I had never stepped foot in a Lush store in my life. The day I did is the day I regret most because since then I have bought a lot in my opinion (not really a lot in comparison to some people I've seen though!)

I bought my first ever bath bomb (or ballistic) which was the Abominaball Snowman and I absolutely loved it! The smell is just so cool and refreshing and when I put it in the bath I was in awe - even though it was in a million pieces :(...

Such a cooling bath...this is my favourite bath ballistic so far (even though I've only tried two haha)

After hearing so many people raving about the Cinders ballistic I took it upon myself to get one and try it out. It smells amazing as a solid ballistic but then when I put it in the bath it just didn't smell at all. I was under-whelmed in fact but he whole outcome; the lack of smell and the lack of an exciting 'show'.

It just left my water  looking a funny yellow colour :S

Sales, sales, sales...I had to go to the Lush sale...twice...and I managed to bag myself a 500g bottle of Snow Fairy (yay) which can go side-by-side with my smaller bottle. I also got another Abominaball ballistic which hopefully this time won't crumble...

Aswell as these two lovelies, I got the Twilight ballistic which so many people say is one of their all-time favourites...will this be another Cinders disappointment?

Finally today I popped into Lush hoping they would still have some Christmas scents left and much to my delight they had one piece of Snow Globe soap left at 50% off which I just had to get. It's not a scent I'd usually go for as it's very zesty and almost clinical but I just can't stop sniffing it! I'm so happy I got the last piece...and it's quite a pretty piece too haha...

Do you have any recommendations of LUSH products I should try? I'd love to hear what your favourites are....

LUSH!

I've heard so many good things about LUSH stores and so many people shop there, so on Monday I thought I'd pop in and have a look. I was such a novice in there, I didn't know what you were supposed to do with the things or anything, until I spotted a girl putting her bath bomb into a little paper bag so I did the same haha...

So, I did end up buying a few things after being bombarded by the hundred of smells and colours!

I got a christmas themed bath ballistic called 'Abombinaball' which I plan to save until nearer christmas (partly because I don't have a bath at university haha)...

Isn't he just adorable! I can see when the time comes for me to use this I'm going to feel so guilty and not want too fizz him all away! So, as for the smell, he is described as 'Our big, shy snow monster ballistic, with a scent of peppermint oil, vanilla absolute and orange oil' but to be honest all I smell is the peppermint...a lot! Of all the things I bought I can smell mint over anything else and it just smells nice enough to eat. I believe the orange is a few layers inside and as for the vanilla, well, I just don't smell it. I'm actually really looking forward to using this because for starters I've never used a bath bomb before so that'll be a new experience, but also, I want to smell the other scents...I am loving the peppermint, but I want to see if the orange really is there. Another thing about Mr Abombinaball is his glittery outside, which
is now all over my hands haha...

The next thing I bought is the 'Cinders' bath ballistic which I plan to use on Christmas Eve...mmmmm....

I have heard sooo many good things about this ballistic so I thought I'd go and smell it for myself, and all I can say is mmmmmmmm. I can just tell this is going to make such a warming and soothing bath. The idea is that the cinnamon and orange scent combined with the popping candy on the top are supposed to simulate sitting in front of a burning crackling fire. I really do get that sense just fro the smell so I can't even imagine what the bath will be like. This is why I am going to save this one for Christmas Eve because I just think that'll be the perfect time. This, compared to the Abombinaball is much smaller so I'd imagine it wouldn't last as long but this is much more for cold nights, whereas the minty scents of the other is to refresh you.

Now onto the soaps, where I got two. I picked up 'Rockstar' and 'The Godmother'...

I picked up Rockstar after hearing mixed views on it; some saying it was awful and some saying it was the best of all soaps, and the minute I smelt it I knew I wanted it! For starters it's pink which automatically gives it awesome points, and then it smells like sweets mixed with vanilla which is a great mix in my nose (see what I did there!). As I stood taking in it's sweet smell, one of the store assistants came over to me and handed me a purple coloured soap and said; 'smell this, it's much better', which kind of surprised me because it was almost like he was telling me not to buy it...

So I smelt the purple/red soap, The Godmother...

...and I really did like it but Rockstar just ticked more boxes for me. The guy was shocked I said I preferred Rockstar and insisted I smell it some more. I did really like the smell - and sat here smelling them both now I actually prefer The Godmother haha. I was then told that I could just get a piece of both soaps in a 'Sweet Soap of Mine' pack for the price of one normal sized piece so I thought why not and thus the story of my introduction to Rockstar and The Godmother. The Godmother smells very very much like candy floss and sweets which is very much a smell I love! LUSH says that you should use this soap after washing dishes but I personally plan on using it in the shower!

Me again! So when I embarked on my first LUSH journey, my real intention was to buy 'Snow Fairy' shower gel which I can safely say is one of the nicest smells ever! However, when I got to the store they only had the really big bottles which are wayyy too expensive, so I instead settled for The Godmother soap which is basically the exact same smell! I did still want Snow Fairy though, so on Wednesday I went back to the store and much to my surprise they had the regular sized bottles!

This shower gel seriously smells like heaven! It is bright pink in colour and has tiny glitter flecks running through it (except they are only at the bottom of the bottle). It smells like a mix between bubblegum, candy floss and pear drops and is the sweetest smell ever! Who wouldn't want a bit of Snow Fairy in their life this Christmas?

*UPDATE!* Yesterday I took Mr Abombinaball out of the bag to show my mum and he literally crumbled into a million pieces! I was actually crushed...I think I can still use him but that isn't the point...this has actually put me of LUSH.

Are you a fan of LUSH? What's your favourite thing to buy if you are?
