LADY GAGA COVERS VOGUE US

Are you ready for this? Lady Gaga covers the September issue of Vogue US with a record-breaking 916 pages. Wearing a piece by Marc Jacobs, this is Lady Gaga's second Vogue US cover and if I'm honest, this has completely stormed ahead of her previous.

Gaga was photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott and styled by Grace Coddington; with this team I'm certain the editorial is to be just much a spectacle, I believe a large pink hat is involved!

Now, yes, this cover is in true Lady Gaga extravagant fashion, but it's really not what I expected at all. That's not to say I don't like it, I do think its a great cover and sure to be a bestseller; it was definitely worth the anticipating wait. I'm more excited by the content though; 120 years of style, exciting stuff!

You can read some of the interview here, but you'll have to wait until the August 14th release to see it in full...

Do you like Lady Gaga's September cover of Vogue US? Is it what you expected?

GWEN STEFANI COVERS HARPER'S BAZAAR US

Gwen Stefani covers the September issue of Harper's Bazaar US and surprise surprise, it is a beautifully shot image by photographer Terry Richardson. Wearing a pink Jill Sander dress and an Alexis Mabille couture hat, the cover and editorial both reference the iconic 'Think Pink' musical number in Audrey Hepburn's Funny Face. I think this is a perfect concept and Gwen really does a fantastic job at thinking pink!

You can see Gwen's editorial and a snippet of her interview here. I know I'll definitely be buying this issue when it hits newsstands, it's an absolutely brilliant cover, one of my favourites in a while and certainly my favourite of the September covers.

Gwen Stefani's September issue of Harper's Bazaar will be on newsstands on August 21st, will you be buying it?

MILEY CYRUS COVERS MARIE CLAIRE US

Miley Cyrus is the September cover star of Marie Claire US wearing an embellished look from the Christian Dior Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. I think this cover is just great, and Miley looks fab; I do wish they wouldn't have gone as overboard as they have with the jewellery - the clothing is statement enough!

Miley talks about her engagement to Liam Hemsworth, her new found happiness and her future album. I for one am super excited to read her interview and to see the accompanying editorial which I'm certain will be just as great as the cover - especially after seeing the behind the scenes video here.

What do you think of Miley Cyrus' September cover of Marie Claire? Will you be buying this issue?

L.A. CANDY | LAUREN CONRAD

This book was almost like a re-living of Lauren Conrad's reality-star lifestyle on the show 'The Hills'. It centres around the lives of two girls, Jane and Scarlett, who move to Los angeles to start fresh and jump start their careers. Jane gets herself an internship for renowned event planner, Fiona Chen, whilst Scarlett muddles through her classes at USC deciding what to do with the rest of her life.

Whilst out at a club one night, Hollywood producer Trevor Lord approaches the pair and convinces them to come for an audition for his new show named 'L.A. Candy'. The girls impress at their auditions and interviews and the show begins with their every moves being filmed and re-staged. You really do get an insight into all the things reality TV shows try to hide, from the non-existent spontaneity aspect to the staged conversations.

This book very much reminded me of The Hills which is not always a good thing! The first thing I noticed was the over use f description, Lauren Conrad really went to town with describing every detail and at the very beginning of the book, this really did not make for a great read; it did seem like she got more into the swing of it though as the story progressed.

Another thing I noticed was that there is some serious name-dropping going on throughout. Whilst all the celebrities mentioned are fictional, the brands and businesses were dropped throughout the pages like fullstops. This book rally does have the typical 'Chick Lit' feel to it and is a really lighthearted easy read. I'm still undecided whether to read the rest in the series; yes/no?

KUKEE JEWELLERY

Scanning through my draft posts I realised that I never actually wrote a post on my Kukee jewellery order that I received a couple of weeks ago. I heard about them through a couple of blogs and when I saw how great the prices are; starting from £1, I knew I had to buy a few things.

I picked up two above knuckle rings which are great quality and really do add something a little different to an outfit. I also got a spiked bracelet in silver and an almost matching necklace but in a more charcoal grey/silver. Both seem great quality too considering the price and I can't wait to wear them! I thought i'd try out some ear cuffs but having got them, I'm left undecided as to whether they are something I'm actually going to wear. The solid spike design didn't stay on my ear properly for some strange reason, but the dangly spike design I think could grow on me...we'll have to see.

One thing I have to mention is that if you spend over £10, you get a free item of jewellery, and at the time I ordered, the piece was a dangly peace ring which I think is just lovely; if it hadn't have been free I probably would have bought it anyway! I believe the free gift at the moment is an above the knuckle ring.

I honestly think Kukee is a gem of an online store, the prices are super inexpensive and the quality you receive is great. I'll definitely be buying again from them, I have my eye on a couple of things already.
Have you heard of Kukee before, and if so, have you bought from them?

KATY PERRY COVERS ELLE US

The september issue of Elle US has been covered by Katy Perry wearing the same Bottega Veneta's embellished dress as Rosie Huntington-Whiteley wore in her Elle UK shoot! Personally I think Rosie carried off the look far better than Katy does here; I don't think the bad hair and the bright pink background help though to be honest.

Katy on her career: "I love what I do, and when I don't love what I do, I'll make a change...I can't be the candy queen forever."

And on being a role model: "I have no regrets...I'm not going to be everything to everyone. I can't tell a person when it's time for them to have sex. Or if they should have a cigarette...But I try to live my life with a lot of integrity, and, hopefully, that sends a message."

This cover is definitely different, and for that reason alone I'll probably end up buying it; though it really is not Elle's best cover this year...or ever. Now the penultimate question, who wore the dress best? Katy or Rosie?

KEIRA KNIGHTLEY COVERS HARPER'S BAZAAR UK

Oh it pains me to say this, but Keira Knightley's September cover of Harper's Bazaar UK is beautiful. When I heard she had got the cover I actually winced at the thought but having seen it; I have to give her some serious credit, I mean this is an absolute gem of a cover. Keira was photographed by Ellen Von Unwerth wearing a piece from the Chanel Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. She is currently promoting her latest movie, Anna Karenina, so in all honesty, this cover doesn't come as a huge surprise.

This issue hits newsstands on August 2nd where you can read Keira's interview all about her role at Chanel, finding happiness and of course, her upcoming movie starring alongside Jude Law. See her subscribers cover here, personally I like the newsstand cover better; she looks less 'pouty'!

Are you a fan of Keira Knightley's September cover of Harper's Bazaar UK? Will you be buying this issue?
